Remarks

No. Only thing is that most of the professors if they actually taught a little bit better taking time rather than just for the sake of completion of portion and hostel/mess amenities we could be in a better spot in ranking.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Not very updated and Still old until last year. But trying to bring new changes. Especially this year, we have new subjects in 2nd year in department such a as Object Oriented Programming. The language is Python and Linear Algebra in math. Exam is Cgpa wise. Percentile based. Exams are generally difficult to score. Marking varies frk professor to professor. A 7 pointer CGPA is considered fine.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are pretty good overall. Computer Science department students get placed more and higher packeges because all the companies which come are pure or semi software companies. In my department core placement are very minimal. Infact one tends to sit for software placements even if he has no interest in coding but just for the lucrative package offered by the company initially.

College Events

5

Aarohi and Axis is the main 2 fests of college. Axis is a technical fest and Aarohi is a cultural fest. Aarohi is the largest cultural fest in Central India. Generally happens for 3 days. Some stand up comedian or professional singers would be brought. Foodiestan are the restaurant with good food on this day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It can be feasible or expensive actually depending on the quota you have got. As its an NIT people range from General to Sc/St to PWD seats. So fees varies. In DASA quota there are 2 fee categories one is the CIWG quota(Children of Indian Workers in Gulf) and Non CIWG seat. CIWG seats have same fees as General seats(1.25 lakh per year). Non CIWG goes up to 5 lakh per year which is very expensive comparing to others

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know much. I think there is a loan facility for students who aren't being able to afford tuition fees. And about scholarships, person who gets highest Cgpa in first year are rewarded I think not sure.

Campus Life

3.5

Sports grounds is a very good platform. We have the football pitch, Basketball ground, Volleyball nets, Handball, Kho Kho and kabaddi ground. Athletic grounds, etc. Sports ground is maintained regularly. Proper water coolers are also provided. Lab devices are very good to work with. No complaints. Although sometimes some equipment don't work we always get a spare one to do our job

Hostel Facilities

4

Decent(Adjusting) but could be way better. Not worth the money we pay. Especially the main problem is the washroom. And mess also doesn't serve that good food. Sometimes we just eat just for the sake of not being hungry.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful. Infact right when we join college and when they leave college we'll need their help. All the books for first years were given by our close seniors. On the sports ground also seniors help us to become better. In club activities also seniors guides us. For placements interview everything. Infact all the Aarohi Axis Cultural Night Freshers Etc are all done/guided by seniors

Admission

DASA quota through SAT exam. SAT subject test exam requirements for Indian NIT's contains 3 subjects Physics Mathematics and Chemistry out of 800 each. It contains negative marking. Every subject is 1 hour each. Raw score is converted to scaled score. Math contains 50 questions, Physics 75 and Chemistry 85.

Faculty

3.5

Not very dependable to be honest. It's not like school. In school we recieve much of care and love to a point and teachers all spoon feed you. Here professors just write something on the board and sometimes gives a part of portion as assignment for the sake of completion of portion. And as everywhere they are very stingy to give marks. But ready to always clear our doubts. Just that we need to step up and mot everyone does that

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
