College has still a very backdated mentality of being very biased towards attendance. It's like, in college, you have to keep up your attendance, no matter what great innovative thing you're doing in life.
Course Curriculum Overview
Very vast course curriculum. We have everything covered, from humanities to science and core science even, like physics and chemistry. Exam structure is good, semester based central University controlled, but must be updated
Placement Experience
Placement condition I would say is moderate. We have very little on campus drives, which makes us run to pool campussing and off campussing drives. This makes our life tedious regarding our 4th year of college. There is no internship opportunity
College Events
There are mainly 2 main festivals. Resonance or the Tech Fest of CEMK, and Spandan, or the cultural fest of CEMK. This Fest happenes 1 after the other within a week generally, and happens generally in the even semester, during mid April.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is a bit on the lower side I would say. It takes feasible amount of fees for the education it gives, but if it would have given the placements too, then it would have been one of the best colleges.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many kinds of loans that college give. The college gives subsidy to students coming from a low income background. Also, there are several scholarship schemes, like Vivekananda scholarship, aikashree scholarship for the lower caste people.
Campus Life
CEMK labs are very well equipped. Infact, its lab are the best I would say among any colleges. From having 24*7 1 gbps internet, to being accessible until late evening, to having modern equipments, the labs are maintained very well.
Hostel Facilities
No, I haven't opted for hostel. Because the conditions of hostels are very horrible and dilapidated. The hostels have long been asking for modernization and an upgrade. We do have centralised Network in hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
College supports an alumni association. During the fests, the college authority asks the past students to come and stay rent free for the festivals. It also has a network of senior students, to help college during times of placements and teaching.
Admission
I appeared for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, then I got a decent enough rank in the entrance examination, which enabled me to sit for the centralised counselling. I sat in the counselling, and finally got this college
Faculty
Faculty is very experienced and very helpful. From the first day of the college itself, they are guiding me to be the very best towards my potential strong aspects. They support any innovative thinking.
