Experience of DAVIET

Our college is good but the teachers and staff here are very conservative and the girls and boys are kept in different places during fests. Some of the teachers are knowledgeable but rest are having less knowledge than some of the students. The infrastructure is good but the placement is very poor.

Computer science is the best course available here , there are 2 minor internal theory exams and one internal VIVA and practical for each subject then one External theory exam and external Viva, practical for each subject.

The placements are not too good, the highest package is here Is the lowest in many universities around us. And this college still shows off on this. We have to go to other universities for Joint campus placements. And this college doesn't provide any kind of internship.

The 1st event of the year is the talent hunt where the fresher's can show there talent and they can go in various clubs of our college depending upon there talent. The 2nd event is the techfest where are many technical and non technical events and about 1k people participate in this and this is followed by star night where local Singer comes. The last event of the year is the youth fest which is an inter university fest.

The fee structure is feasible which is around 1,00,000 rupees per year. This is a lot cheaper and feasible than other universities and the hostel fees is also feasible and overall it is value for money.

Our college provides scholarship to students with high academic score while the admission process but he/she must be of the state Punjab. Our college provides some sort of scholarship to the students having single parent.

We have inter college sports tournament every year in September-October. It includes of sports like football, handball, cricket, basketball, table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis. The labs are having not very advanced equipments. And the computer labs have pirated windows.

The fees of hostel is less and the great thing is the money you pay for the mess and if you have opted for AC rooms , some of the money is returned if the mess bill and ac bill is below the threshold amount. The infrastructure is good but the washrooms are in very bad condition. We have e hostels , 1 is of PG boys hostel 2nd is UG boys hostel and 3rd is Girls hostel.

The alumni network is not at all strong and not at all helpful, we have to make senior friends and we talk to them directly, the college doesn't provide any sort of help in that. But the seniors are very helpful and so are we for our juniors.

I got admission by scoring good marks in entrance exam and then I was selected by an interview process done by the administration office. After that, the list of selected students came out and luckily my name was in it.

Most of the members of the staff are very helpful but only in Computer science and Information Technology steams. The faculty of other streams is not helpful or kind at all. In my case teachers and staff are very good and knowledgeable.
