Every college has some positive and some negative aspects. But if I start to state all these, then words will be shorter to express how good is our college. We have created friends for life here whom I am never going to forget.

There are two semesters in an academic year. And in one semester two main exams are conducted i.e Mid semester exams and End semester exams. And apart from these we need to do continuous quizzes, tests, and tutorials. The schedule is very hectic.

Our college offers many chances for placement and internships. And the placement season is about to start in the month of December. And yes, with the help of the Petroleum Department from our college, I got a month internship last summer in ONGC Videsh Limited in Russia. I didn't got any stipend but my travel expenses and accommodation were provided by the company. And it was the best experience being out of INDIA for first time and that too for 1 month.

A lot of events keep happening in our college throughout the year. The main ones are Concetto- The techno management fest, Srijan- The cultural fest, Basant- The Alumni meet. And apart from these different departments are having different Departmental fests every year. And many cultural societies are here in our college and they keep organising many events like Art gallery by Art Club (Btw I'm a member of Art Club), Dance and musicals nights etc.

The fee structure is a bit expensive here. The per semester tuition fee is ?1 lakhs and mess and hostel charges are also there. Thus approximately per semester fee gets a total of ?1.3-1.4 lakhs. The other charges include mess fee, hostel charges, annual charges, and other activities fee.

The college offers many scholarships for financially weak students. MCM scholarship for the meritorious students. For these scholarships the students need to apply and documents like income certificate are required. And once you qualify the criteria and your documents are verified, you get the scholarship.

The college offers a very good environment for extracurricular activities and sports. There are many cultural societies like Art society, Music society, dance society, dramatics society and a lot more. And funding for sports activities is very good. We are having two big playgrounds, a swimming pool. The laboratories are very very good here. A lot of expensive equipments are here. For research purpose the laboratories are very good here.

Everyone has to remain in the hostels only, it is compulsory bro stay in the campus for every student. We are having a big campus of around 350-400 acres. The hostels are not so expensive, we need to pay around ?20,000-25,000 for 1 semester which includes the mess charges also. In each hostel approx 1000-1500 are staying. So they are obviously big. Infrastructure of the hostels is not so good because most of the them were build years ago. One hostel (Diamond Hostel) is more than 50 years old.

Our college is having a vast Alumni network. As our college is approximately 90-95 years old. Let me give you some examples, The CMD of ONGC is from our college, the CMD of Coal India Limited (CIL) is from our college many examples are there I can't state them all. And there is a very good quality of our college called Senior-Junior culture. The seniors we always there to help you. They will do whatever you ask them to.In exchange you just need to show respect for them. And they are always there for you.

I'm studying in an IIT. Fot getting into an IIT you need to qualify two exams i.e. JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. The application form for JEE Mains are filled in the month of November and the exams is conducted in the month of April. I appeared for the same. Those who qualify JEE Mains are allowed to appear for JEE Advanced. I qualified for the same and then appeared for JEE Advanced and qualified it. And through the counseling procedure I got this college, i.e. IIT (ISM) DHANBAD.

The professors are highly qualified here. Some of them are very good at teaching but others are not. Most of them are very strict. Many professors here have done their PhD from respected foreign universities and other IITs. But that creates differences in some things but not in other.
