Remarks
The college has only positive things, great culture, studies, activities both academic and Extracurricular and good placements. Excellent senior junior and teacher student Relationship. Best college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Engineering course is of 4 years under the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology guided rules. Every year has 2 semesters. A total of 8 semesters constitute the 4 years of course. Each semester is ended with a final exam. In between there is a series of 4 Continuous Assessment exams to be taken every month during the semester. With proper balance of Practical and Theory, the course runs. Apart from these, there is a requirement if indulging into Extracurricular activities as guided by the university that will fetch Mandatory Additional Requirements (MAR) points which will be required to get the degree.
Placement Experience
Our college has a good record of placements every year. Job opportunities are huge and the college continuously works to call Multinational Companies for On Campus visits and placements. CSE, ECE, EIE, IT department students are mostly placed in the final year. My experience is very satisfying as I got the placement in two different companies, one on campus, another off campus, for which my college provided me with enough training and classes solely dedicated for placement.
College Events
Our college FIEM is the rare college in Kolkata which helds more than 4 big fests at the beginning of each year. I am enlisting them as: 1. Celluloid- The film fesr organized by Film Club Estrella Productions 2. Phoenix- The tech fest organized by Tech Club Xplorica 3. The sports fest organized by Sports Club Sportivo 4. Flames- The cultural fest by Cultural Club Culrav 5. Aloron- The management fest by the Future Management School (FMS) With the variety of all these fests, the college remaind eventful throughout the year with many workshops and seminars and events related to the fests happen which involves all the students in organizing and participating in them.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible for any middle-class family of this country. Engineering costs 3.62 lakh INR for 4 years course which is the lowest fees in the whole of India compared to what the College Offers in Return.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarship as under Tution Fee Waiver scheme set by the Joint Entrance Board of the Government. For a poor student, TFW scheme offers 75% fee waiver. Several Banks provide Education Loans with applicable interest rates.
Campus Life
The College is full of Extracurricular activities and such events are provided by the 4 big Student Clubs of the College, Xplorica (tech), Estrella (film), Sportivo (Sports), Culrav (cultural) clubs- they organize many workshops and events for students to organize and take part. The College has State of the Art Labs for all departments with the availability of every important scientific equipment and infrastructure.
Hostel Facilities
I didn't opt for hostel, but the College is surrounded by the locality of Mess and PG which are shared by students at very cheap rates. All these houses offer a homely atmosphere to the students and provide with wifi and other facilities apart from good food.
Alumni/Alumna
Ragging is not in the dictionary of our college. Seniors are all great and friendly. Senior junior Relationship in this College is an example for all other Engineering colleges. Everyone is very helpful and like family.
Admission
After completing Higher Secondary Examination, I took the JEE exam for Engineering, where I secured a rank and in online counselling in WBJEE portal, selected Future Institute of Engineering and Management for ECE stream and got the admission in that College thereafter.
Faculty
The faculty is extremely good as most of them are into research and PhDs, they take good care to ensure the students have got a vivid idea of the concepts. Well versed and well qualified faculties are the strength of this college.
