My college experience

The college is definitely good. The faculty is excellent. Regular classes are held. Students get good jobs. Has had a good reputation overall. The only negetive remark is that it's quite afar from main Kolkata is a lot of time is wasted in transportation.

The curriculum is moderately diverse and it does an overall good job of developing students' skills but the examination structure isn't quite that good. The continuous assessment formats are good but the questions need to be more about practical situations which challenge students' problem solving skills.

Placements are excellent. There are many job opportunities, not only in private sector but also in public sector. Our college does provide internship and also helps students who want to go for an exchange program abroad. The college has ties with other institutions worldwide, like in Spain, USA, China, etc.

There are a lot of events happening in our college. The main 2 are - 1. Fresher's - The welcome party for the 1st Year students which ia held every year on engineer's day. 3rd Year seniors usually organize the party and 1st year students take part in it. 2. Annual Fest - A fest for all where students are invited for a fun filled program. Guest celebrities are present. Food, drink , games, etc. are organised.

Starts at ?38250 and ?1000 rise every odd semester. It isn't cheap by any means but isn't too expensive that no one cannot afford. For those who cannot afford have the option of selecting TFW quota. In this quota, 10% students get admission.

I don't know about any such facility because I didn't need to take any loan. But anyone can apply for a loan at any bank and submit the fee structure at the bank to get a loan. The loan can be availed by anyone.

Labs are extremely good and well maintained. There is a cricket ground, a basketball court. A cricket team is also there and Cricket practice takes place every morning. Blood Donation camps, tree planting and rural education campaigns are also conducted.

Alumni network is well spread and we have frequent interactions too. Seniors are mixed. Seniors from ECE department are the best. They are extremely helpful. The seniors of the mechanical department are the worst. They are ill mannered and don't hesitate on using force on anyone.

First of all I took an examination of West Bengal joint entrance. After the examination was given over, I was given a rank and based on that rank, I got admission through counselling which was conducted by the west bengal government and through that counselling I got admission in this college.

The Faculty of our college is undoubtedly excellent. The teacher's are friendly and yet not too frank. They help us not only in our studies but also in our everyday life activities. They take note of our health, our attendance and if anyone is creating problems for us in college. Our mentors really stand up to their title.
