For Master's-Think before you take admission.

Everything except faculty and placements are fime here. After acquiring autonomy VJTI slipped from AIR NIRF rank 28 to now at 103. There is lots of internet politics among Professors. Administration do not support professors.

Course curriculum is very good as per the international curriculum for prospective course. Most of curriculum do not focus upon industrial growth. They are helpful for students who are planning for higher studies. college have complete autonomy. so CPI are awarded which is relative grading among all the students in that specialisation.

Placement opportunities for M. Tech students are very less. a very few core companies are there who come here for placement. However one would easily get a job in some reputed IT company. Infosys is mass recruiter here too.

Currently they hiked there fee by about, 200% as state government is no longer supporting higher education. So fee now have become 83K per annum. Also livelihood in Mumbai is bit expensive so net cost of education becomes very high.

You can easily avail loan for studying here as college have very good reputation. In Mumbai it is best college after IIT Bombay. PG students get monthly scholarship of amount 12400 those who have qualified GATE examination. This scholarship is disbursed by central govt. and college have nothing to do with it.

Labs are very good and updated. Thermal Engineering laboratory contains cryogenic Lab equipments, Electrical engineering lab are very old and very famous in india and abroad also. Most of the machines and equipments are 100 years old or so. They keep updating equipments also. But for PG courses they do not have any dedicated lab. you will have to do with UG lab only. You will have to carry your own laptops for simulation labs.

There are Hostels for UG courses but as of now there are no hostel for PG students. besides the fact that funds have already been released by Govt. in 2014. For UG students Hostel are good. fee are nominal.

VJTI have very renowned Allumni status. Our Allumni are at the top positions in most of renowned organisations. and because of this Allumni network becomes very strong. There is one VJTI Alumni association in college where Allumni come and talk together raise funds and help college in any way possible.

For any master program at VJTI, you will have to first qualify GATE examination. For different branches and specialisation there are different cutoff marks for admission. For Mechanical allied branches cutoffs are very high and for Electronics and Allied branch cutoffs are high. Specifically for electrical and allied branches, you may get even if you have just qualified or scored about 400 Gate Score.

Faculties are pathetic. Most of them are on adhoc basis for 1 year term. In electrical engg. depart only one or two permanent professor are there. they handle all 14-15 courses. and they are accompanied with some passout students from same college that too one or two years back. Curriculum is designed good but there are no enough faculty.
