College review

Positive : College campus is very vast. The faculty here is excellent and very highly qualified and skilled. There is a lot of encouragement for extracurricular activities. Negative : College is located far away from the heart of the city and transportation to the college is a big problem. The placement opportunities available in this college is very less compared to other colleges and the salary packages are also less.

Course curriculum is good. One year is divided into two semesters. Each semester will have 3 internal examinations and one final University examination conducted by VTU. Each semester we have 6 core subjects and 2 lab subjects. The internals are conducted for 40 marks and the external exam for 60 marks.

Talking about internship, it's upon a student to get an internship on his own with his efforts. Not much assistance is provided for internships. Coming to placements, every year around 20-25 companies visit my college and the average salary is around 3-4 lakhs. 80% of the students get placed every year. But compared to other colleges, the number of visiting our college is very less and salary package is also very less.

The number of events conducted in our college is sky high. In the odd semester Karnataka rajyotsava is celebrated grandly. In the even semester there will be college fest as well as department fest. Both these include technical and non technical and cultural events. Sporting events are also conducted twice in the even semester.

Fee structure is expensive compared to other colleges in Bengaluru. It's not at all feasible for lower class families because the fees is atleast 15-20% more compared to other colleges. The fees for management students is way too high around 2 lakhs per annum. Fees collected for some of the facilities are not even provided. One example for this is the collection of WiFi fee from all the students of the college. The network speed is not even 1 Mbps which is not useful for anything.

Good scholarship facility is provided only to non general merit students on yearly basis. A sum of 30000 is transferred to the students account. Meritorious students of every semester need not pay the money for extra library books, they are given a provision to borrow as many books as they want. There are no loan facilities available in my college.

The number of extracurricular activities are too many. A good sized cricket ground is available in the college premises. Different outdoor sports are played in the ground apart from Cricket like soccer hockey. A basketball court volleyball ball and badminton court is available. Many indoor games like carrom chess can be played. A new gym is also opened in the college for fitness lovers. There is a dance group, singing group, literature group and many other groups in the college. Labs are excellent. There are 8 labs in my department.

I have not opted for hostel but considering the inputs from my friends, the basic facilities like availability of water and electricity is good. Coming to food, the taste is not up to the mark and most of them don't prefer to have food there. Internet connectivity is very good. The hostel rules are very strict.

There is not much connection for the current students with the alumni but sometimes they are called up to the college to give a talk or presentation on anything they have achieved during their college days. Interaction with seniors happen more often and they are very helpful in guiding us sometimes in different things.

After finishing 12th. I appeared for CET examination which is conducted for students of Karnataka.I secured 12703 rank in the state level examination and I secured a seat in CSE department in acharya institute of technology. There are also others ways of getting into this college. One way is to write comedk examination. The other way is to get a seat through management.

Faculty is very highly qualified and have knowledge in all technical domains. Apart from that we have expert teachers for different subjects. The faculty is very friendly to all the students. They finish the designated syllabus in the given time. There are many faculties in each department which increases flexibility in the department by not squeezing a teachers schedule everyday.
