Remarks
Personally I had better expectations but with time i adjusted and i can say even if it's not at par with many other colleges but it still is one of the best college to study in. There are a lots of scope of improvement though
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum followed is a bit old one. But this year the course structure has changed and has become better. Multiple quizzes with one end semester and one mid semester exam happens every semester.
Placement Experience
There is almost 100 percent placement in my branch in particular. 150-200 people get on campus internship every year. Majority of them are of computer science department. Still the placement scenario is not at par with other old IITs. Location factor is one of the factor affecting placement.
College Events
Every year there is 1 Technical fest (Concetto) and one cultural fest (Srijan). Apart from that there are departmental tests and sports fest as well. There is another fest called Basant for the alumnis.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Expensive, considering the fact that this is a government institution of national importance. Although the government provides various kinds of scholarship to the poor but for those who pay the whole money it's costly.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are many kinds of scholarship our college provides. There is fee waiver and merit cum means scholarship for students having family income less than 6 lpa. Then there are many scholarships for minorities. The State Bank of India ISM campus branch also provides 0 percent interest loans.
Campus Life
Labs are well equipped in every department. We have two grounds one for football and other for cricket. Indoor sports facilities is also good. We have an Olympic size swimming pool. Gymnasium is also present. Basketball court and lawn tennis court is also presnt
Hostel Facilities
Hostels provide just as much is required. You cannot expect much from a government institution. Although the girls hostel is pretty new and clean and beautiful. New hostels are being made and I guess the situation for boys will also improve soon.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior junior relationship in our college is pretty good. Something I can boast off about my college definitely. All seniors are helpful. And since our college is very old the alumni network is vast. If you are in any of the earth science branch then the alumni network will definitely.
Admission
After clearing JEE mains, I was eligible for sitting in JEE advanced. I cleared JEE Advanced with a decent rank which got me a seat in IIT Dhanbad. The only way to get into IITs is by clearing JEE Advanced.
Faculty
Not all faculties are good. Some are highly qualified and sincere but there are many who don't even deserve to be professors at an IIT. Our college is a new IIT so the scenario is changing. Professors who are newly recruited are better and more qualified.
