The Honest Review

Traffic problems are prevalent in our campus because it is under BHU. We have separate campus for IIT BHU but common people are also allowed inside the campus so problems of clashes between people (fights), accidents, theft occur frequently.

Course is very diverse and covers lots of topics from class 11th and 12th both. Some questions are conceptual and require good solving skills whereas some questions require mugging up. The Exam (JEE Advanced) has multiple choice type, decimal integer type, matrix type questions. College course is useless as of now as it doesn't allow us to expand our skill base. Skills are to be developed alongside the course by ourselves.

Great opportunities in terms of placement and internship. Most of the students get internship in 3rd year and almost everyone gets placed in their 4th year with salaries ranging from 5 lpa to 50lpa. I am currently in first year so haven't been in the situation yet.

We have cultural fests like Kashiyatra, sports fest like Spardha which are conducted in a much organised way. Also we have DJ Nights where DJs are from our own college and on a smaller scale we have events like Film Weekends, Diwali Celebrations etc.

Fee is a bit high. Around 100 thousand per year but we have ample of scholarships in our way. Hostel and Mess fee are nominal and can be afforded. Rest is paid by the scholarships provided by the government.

College provides lots of scholarship and gives out forms to fill. I have available my state government scholarship: Madhya Pradesh Medhavi Chhatra Yojna, many state scholarships (UP, Maharashtra etc) are also available along with some other scholarships which the college provides. (College is government funded so scholarships are from the government itself, not the institute)

Labs are undermaintained but sports facilities are innumerous. We have large basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, Kabaddi, Hockey grounds, Badminton and tennis courts, table tennis rooms and gymkhana where we have boxing rings, gym and a ground for exercising and yoga.

Infracture: 7/10, Facilities: 9/10. We have small bedrooms that too shared by 2 or 3 students. We have gardens and greenery in our hostel and also a badminton court. Infrastructure is quite old but maintenance is great. We have all facilities in our hostel like Water cooler, geyser for hot water, both western and indian toilets, large campus with ATMs nearby, canteens in every hostel which run from 2 PM to 2 AM

We have strong alumni network as IIT BHU has now completed its 100 years of establishment. They are really helpful specifically in the placement areas. Senior students conduct various workshops for music, arts, coding, photography and we have different clubs where we can excel our personality.

Two entrance exams: JEE Main followed by JEE Advanced. Need to clear JEE Main to qualify for JEE Advanced and JEE Advanced rank decides the college and branch. Around 1 million people give JEE Main out of which 200 thousand get selected for JEE Advanced out of which around 15000 students are selected for IITs.

Some faculty people are really great in teaching concepts. They are also friendly and are ready to clear doubts anytime. Some of them are really strict and sometimes they don't even care about students. Most of them are really helpful.
