Remarks
This college is quite different from other colleges. We only used to listen two kind of reviews from every students. Either they loved it or they didn't like it at all. I don't know why but this was true. But I surely loved this college and feel like it was one of the best thing ever happened to me.
Course Curriculum Overview
In B.com(H), there were almost every subject related to commerce like Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, Auditing, Taxation, Business Organisation Management, E- commerce even mathmatics and Computer. There were internal exams which used to be held in January every year and then final exams in May and June. Each paper was of 75 marks out of which 55 marks were for external exams to be held in May) June, 5 Marks for attendance and 15 marks for internal exams. Passing criteria was 40% marks.
Placement Experience
At our time there were no opportunities for internship in our course but in Placement there were 4-5 Multi national companies and Big firms including Genpact, Deloitte, EY, KPMG. Some of the students even got selected but most of the students opted for higher studies.
College Events
Annual Fest Aaghaz, Annual Commerce Fest- Commercium, Science Fest, Arts Fest, DAV Trophy ( Cricket), DU Trophy Cricket, freshers Party, fairwell party, orientation programme for freshers, Annual Function.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees structure was very affordable. The annual course fee for all courses range between Rs.3000 to 7000-8000. Also there was exam fees which was Rs. 1000 approximately. In first year's annual fee Rs. 500 was charged as security fees which was refundable.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have no knowledge of such scholarship as I don't remember about it. But I am sure that there would be some scholarship schemes for needy students because our college is managed by the prestigious DAV society.
Campus Life
Our College was one of the best for Cricket related activities. We had a huge ground for Cricket there are some cricketers who belonged to PGDAV college and who played for Indian Cricket team like Parvinder Awana, there were also some Ranji Players. We also have a good ground for Basketball, Volleyball, Football and athletics. For ECA we have a drama society. And for science students labs are available.
Alumni/Alumna
We were asked to fill alumni forms but till today there were no any alumni meet or any kind of contacts from the college. So there is almost no alumni network and question of it being helpful doesn't arise at all.
Admission
There was a central process of Delhi University in which students applied through OMR sheets by choosing College and Course. After that DU collectively released Cut- Off lists for each college and course. Generally there are 4-5 Cut- Off lists though in some colleges seats get full in first or second list. I got admission in 3rd Cut- off. After checking eligibility for minimum marks required in desired college and course, we had to go to the college and then take the form for that college and course and fill it and after paying the fees there was a little face to face welcome interview with the Principal of the college. It was the best part as the Principal was giving time to welcome every single student and was motivating all newcomers.
Faculty
There were teachers with great knowledge and experience in the particular subject. Most of the teachers were very willing to teach students by making their subject and class interesting. There were teachers who were even willing to help poor students financially and even ready for psychological counseling. They were very friendly.
