Remarks
It is a reputed college and one of the prestigious college of West Bengal. It has a glorious history of more than 50 years and it is still going strong. Students graduated from this college have quite excelled in life and are at various parts of the world.
Course Curriculum Overview
It's quite vast. Syllabus almost same to JEE mains syllabus. The exam consists of MCQ questions with plus for correct answer , negative for wrong answer and zero for not attempting. One must have good knowledge in physics , chemistry and mathematics for going through the exam.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities are quite good considering u are an average student who has also some other skills. At the end of the day all that matters is your skill. College does not provide internship but you can opt for internship and training through internshala.
College Events
2 fests take place each year JECLAT. The annual fest of the college. It takes place generally at the end of February. It includes programs of dance, music, drama, cultural activities. It continues for about 3-4 days SRISTI. The tech fest of the college. Generally conducted at the end of March.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Quite feasible as it is a government engineering College. For the core branches it is like 37000 for four years and for the non core branches it is about 45000. For thebit department it is a bit more.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am not aware of any such facilities. But the alumni offers scholarship to the meritorious students based on their semester performance. Moreover if u belong from the weaker sections, there is facility for reduced fee structure.
Campus Life
The extracurricular activities are quite good. There is plenty of space for playing outdoor games. There is dedicated basketball court, badminton court , table tennis room and carrom board. So the amenities are quite adequate.
Alumni/Alumna
They are quite helpful. They share their experiences. Their way of succeeding in life. Their journey in the college. They are quite helpful for the academic and exam parts. They even guide us in the various events and spends quality time with the juniors
Admission
Got admission through WBJEE 2019. It requires you to have a certain rank to get admission in the college in your desired stream. After WBJEE 2019 there is an online counselling conducted where you get an allotment letter. Even after the primary admission process gets over, there are chances of getting in the college through de-centrallized counselling conducted every year.
Faculty
Faculty for the core branches is quite experienced. Most of them are over 40 years of age with degrees from reputed colleges. The faculty for the non-core branches is also experienced but are a little less in number.
