An Emerging Campus

Positive is that is the college is gaining infrastructure as the New autonomous Sister Nivedita University is on the same campus. The negative is that the college authority things that they are perfect and there is hardly any space for student reviews so no actions are taken as per the problems faced by the students and the college is all about money money and money. Always the they are like " Have you submitted your semester fees?" You have to pay the semester fees of the Even semester itself before the Odd semester exams otherwise you are not allowed to appear in the semester exams.

The course curriculum as described by the MAKAUT. And it is like the other typical engineering colleges with semester examination system. Here two exams are organised one in the month of June and the other in the month of December. Consisting of both practical and theoritical exams. The practicals are held before the theory exams and they are conducted by the internal faculties. The questions of the theory exams are set by the MAKAUT. And are conducted by both internal and external faculties in the college itself. And the curriculum contains 5-6 subjects every semester of both theory and practical both. In every semester there are 4 unit test held by the college faculties in the classes. And the scores are uploaded in the University site.

Placement and job opportunities are good as the whole Techno group colleges come together when its the time of placement. Many a students get jobs in good companies but most are placed in IT sectors, there is crisis in core company placement. No, our college doesn't provide the opportunity of internship so I have no experience of getting a stipend from the college.

All the national events are celebrated in college properly like Independence Day, Republic day, Netaji jayanti, Gandhi Jayanti, Women's Day etc. Many of the enthusiastic students take part to get MAR points for semester. And one of the pujas are also celebrated in the college. That is Bishwakarma Puja the god of machines and tools. The technical fest is also held in the college and again all the students willing to get MAR points take part. And lastly the Yagvik the college fest and the Aarambh the fresher's party are held in one of the auditoriums in Kolkata by the college authority with the help of the students.

This college is very expensive for a middile class or poor students so most of them study here with the education loan like me. And the fees per semester ranges from 40000 to 44500 in 8 semesters. This college provides average set of instruments while it comes about the practicals. They are often faulty and the students are not able to do important practicals in the semesters. They can not learn much in this infustructure. As the extremely show off things are excessive in this college. So, the fees are high without providing classy education system.

No scholarship is offered by the college but students can get scholarships given by the Bengal state government. The college doesn't provide any kind of loans but students can get loans from public sector banks or private banks up to 4 lakhs.

There is a Basket ball court, a cricket practice pitch and a small football ground. So students can enjoy playing in the breaks. All the labs are there according to curriculum but no advanced lab is there for students there are two project labs also. But the lab equipments are often found faulty.

No I have not opted for the hostel but I can tell how much it costs for a student every month for fooding and lodging in the hostel. They fixed the prices at 12000 per month when I got admission in the college.

The disheartening thing is that students passing from the college doesn't feel proud to say the college name as they know the drastic truth. So there is no alumni network in the college officially but if any student can personally follow the senior alumnies I think that will be very helpful for them in future.

I appeared in the WBJEE and ranked 28925 and got counselled in this college. Got the EE department of my choice in theke counselling process. Then I had to come to the college for seat booking and then for theke final time the physical counselling and then I submitted the admission fees with demand draft and thus I got admitted to this college.

The faculties in the college are highly qualified but in most of the cases they are worse in communication skills they can not take the class in an interactive way. Rather the class becomes boring. Few teachers' teaching skill is interesting. They can attract all categories of students but other teachers are busy in fulfilling the needs of the top 3-5 students and ignores the backbenchers or the late catchers. So they become bad to worse.
