A journey worth sharing

The environment is good enough. The seniors are friendly. Some of the teachers are also friendly. College canteen is also good but can increase the size a bit. During the rush hour the canteen is overcrowded.

I do think that the present curriculum is not bad, but certain changes can be done to improve the quality of education provided. More number of on-site visits and more number of projects must be there in the syllabus. The exam structure depends all on the rote learning process. You have to mug up things and go and vomit it on the answer script. Bookish knowledge is what it is asked in the exams.

Belonging from the core departments I must say that the placement in our college in the core department is not that good. Most of the CSE and IT department have the most benefit we are also made to do the coding and computer related stuffs to get to the software world. No internships are provided as such from our college.

One event once a SEM is organised. In the odd SEM the Freshers is organised whereas in the even SEM annual fest is done where both technical and cultural fest are organised. Due to lack of space inside the college both the events are held in some auditorium in the city which is near to the college. The technical fest is held inside the college premises itself. Annual sports is also held in our college. Different sports are there in which students can participate. Due to the introduction of basketball court from this year it is expected that from the next sports meet basketball will also be added.

It is feasible for most of the students out there. It ranges from 50-55k per sem. The core branches have the SEM fees on the lesser side whereas the students of the CSE and IT department have to fees more than the rest of the students.

I didn't avail for any scholarship. But many of my friends did. One of my friend availed for a scholarship of TATA, whereas one of them of the railways. There are other certain scholarship programs available.

The labs are certainly very good. Talking of our department the labs are very good and we have got all the equipments the curriculum demands. For the mechanical department also the workshop provided is big enough and has good large number of equipments.

No, I didn't opt for the hostel facility of our college. Like most of the engineering college hostel apart from some the rooms have to be shared among students. Food is provided. The rooms are small enough to fit a cot, table and a small almira.

Only a hand few alumni students come back to the college. The seniors are friendly and are readily available whenever we ask for help from them. The help us with the studies as well with certain other problems. Some of them even provide books to he juniors. The senior-junior relationship is quite good.

Well after class 12 you have to give West Bengal State joint examination and according to your rank you are given colleges. 3 rounds of upgradation can be done to improve your college preference. Once the counseling process is done you have to physically go to the alloted college and get admitted there.

I belong from the electrical department from our college and I can say that our electrical department faculty are very good. They are well qualified and some they are highly experienced. They provide good knowledge and quite a handful of them make the classes interactive too.
