I took the entrance test for international institute of hotel management after which I faced a group discussion and personal interview round. I cleared all the rounds after which I received an approval letter one week later. This was the only college I applied to as I had heard very good reviews about the college. Also it was a private institute which makes it a notch above the government institute institute of hotel management (ihm).Besides this iihm also Gives us option of going abroad for international training, which is better exposure.

Course curriculum is very good as we have practical classes and real time learning experience of each subject of the hotel line such as, front office management,food and beverage service ( includes food and beverage service, banquet service, restaurant operations, bartending etc) house keeping (includes botany, room cleaning, bed making etc.) And culinary where we have hands on experience in food preparation in the kitchen.We also have a 6 months internship programme in year 2 where we work in a hotel of our choice (abroad /India).

Yes our college provides 6 month internship abroad as well as india. The stipend depends upon the hotel. Working abroad gets us a pay of 8$ to 9$ per hour. We get to work in all 4 departments of the hotel depending upon the need of the hotel.

We have 100% placement opportunities provided by our college. At the end of our course we have campus placements where there are various properties from across the globe coming to hire us. Eg. Hyatt. Jw Marriott. Ritz carkton. (Packages depend upon the position we secure) In India salaries start with 14000 and can go upto 20000 at entry level. Abroad ure paid per hour.

Republic day, Gandhi jayanti, rabindra jayanti, Bengali new year, holi diwali and many more holidays are celebrated. They are celebrated in agrand way with all students and faculty invited and taking part in various activities. College also has its own fest spring food festival, rigolo, and December food festival.

Our fees is expensive 1.6 lacks per year and hostel fees are 4000 Rs per month. The fees can be considered expensive as it is a huge sum however we have scholarships that can be availed. Hostel fees are very nominal as they are providing fooding and lodging not very far from our college.

Scholarship are available from year 1 depending on marks u secure in school.Year 2 and year 3 depend upon ur marks obtained in college semester and attendance percentage. 85% attendance and 70%marks scholarship % depend upon discretion of dean.

We have various functions taking place at the campus and off campus throughout the year. Sports competition takes place at SAI complex in salt lake once a year during month of august. College also takes part in other college fests, business fests, cooking competition etc the college is very happening ratio of girls to boys is low 3:10 however it's one big happy family. Everyone is treated equally and everyone knows about everyone.

Hostel is decent. Not very far from college. Food is also very homely. I wouldn't consider it expensive as they provide us fooding and lodging at a very nominal rate. Hostel rooms are shared at 4 ppl per room with bunk beds. Fan lights water and washroom

Alumni is well connected and helpful. Our teachers help us get placements through them a lot of times. We also have seminars where alumni come and share their college experience and their current life in the industry.We can get in touch with them any time through our teachers and theyre more than happy to help us.
