An Insight of NIST

It has been ranked among top 100 college in India. Now It has been NAC accredited. Students are motivated to pursue more in research and are provided the atmosphere for the same. But placement in Mechanical and Civil Branch should also be considered.

NIST is now an Autonomous college. But the course curriculum is similar to BPUT. There are 2 semesters every year, which include internals of 2 calss test,Lab test, assignment,quiz and surprise test.

Major Company that come are from IT sector. The placement in IT sector is more than 80%. But for Mechanical and Civil, it's quite tough to get a job,as few companies visit the campus. Yes, NIST provides internship opportunities, specially in Research field. The stipend is somewhat around 6000 per month.

There are two major events celebrated every year. SANKALP- A Technomanagement fest. WAVES- A cultural fest. Apart from it, 30+ clubs at NIST host various events throughout the year. Sankalp holds number of technical events like Robo race,robo war, boat race, blind coding, circuit designing,and much more.

It is very feasible. Whole fee excluding mess charge is 1.2 lakhs for B.tech. Mess charges keeps on changing every year. You can pay the whole fees in 2-3 installment. Compared to other private college in odisha, NIST is one of the cheapest but providing quality education college.

For residents of Odisha, there is TFW(Tution fee waiver), where you just need to pay 40000 per annum as fees,which was 1.2 lakh for other students. Also,during the cultural fest, more than 20 scholarship are provided on different aspects.

NIST is one of the college of Odisha that has its own Indoor stadium. Modern labs with modern equipment used in the industry. There are clubs that take part in events on national level. Some of them are SAE SUPRA, ROBOCON, GO KART, EFFI CYCLE, HACKATHON.

You can't expect much from hostel all over the country. The rooms is spacious, but you have to somewhere compromise with the food. There is a common room,sports room, library,study room, 24*7 wifi, and much more.

There are regular talks arranged by the college where they call alumni to share the scenario of Industry, that would help the students to prepare according to it and be Industry ready. There is an alumni network, which is connected socially. Regular meetups are held in different state of India throughout the year.

I appeared for JEE Mains, and after getting the score, I applied for counselling. There I filled the form,entered our choices. Then,according to my rank and choice of Branch, I got NIST. In the first weel of August, I went for admission. You need to take all the documents with you related to 10th &12th.

The faculty are very friendly, but at the same time you need to maintain that dignity of a teacher and student. They give you time to clear your doubts. You can even meet them personally to share your ideas,seek help and much more.
