About College Environment

I took CET and got 149/200 marks. I didnt have much idea about this college but one of my friend suggested it to me. This college has the best professors for Chemical Engineering. Hence he suggested me to choose chemical engg. I applied for a college and I got admission into it.

It is a 8 semester course. First 2 semesters will be generic to all the students. Specifics start from 3rd Semester. Somes interesting subjects are :1. Heat Transfer 2. Mass TransferThis 3 subjects continue for 3 semesters. In last 2 semesters we have electives such as PPO and Plant safety which are quite easy.

There was no internship offered during our engineering . But we had good Job opportunities: As 2009 year was not so good for industries very few chemical companies visited for in campus. Only 5 people from my batch were selected in Chemical industry but in 2008 we had software companies like Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Persistant that came for campus interview and offered us Jobs. Starting pay was 3.1 Lacs for this software companies.

We had lot of events in college. We used to conduct internal games within the classroom each month. At college level lot of games used to be conducted and lot of cultural events have happened. Every year we had a gathering during feb month which used to be celebrated for 3 months.

As this is a government college fees structure is ok ok . It is not so expensive yearly fees is 20000 for tuition and total fees of 26000. Other expenses were hostel fees of 8000 and Mess expenses of 14000 yearly .

There is no loan facility offered by the college but one can always avail education loan from government or private banks.

Campus life is the best life. We enjoyed a lot in hostel with friends. We have volleyball court in Campus and other sports as well. One can always play football or cricket we also have indoor games like carrom, Chess .

Hostels were not so good. I would rate 3 out of 5 and food is horrible would rate 1 out of five. Advisable would be to take a room within the town and join some mess outside as quality of food outside is good .

Alumini network is not so good. But our professors always helped us in getting the right placement. After we joined the companies we have interected with so many peple around from our college but when we were in campus not many people got in touch with us.
