College life - the most memorable times of my life.

There are lot of positives: 1. One of the top institution in Tamil Nadu 2. Well experienced faculties 3. Good atmosphere to study 4. Good infrastructure 5. Friendly seniors The only negative for me is there is less number of semester holidays given to students.

I have took Mechanical department for my Under Graduate course because I am pretty much interested in learning machines,automobiles etc.,. This is a very dynamic subject. Of course, we can learn new things daily in this subject fields. Also learning new subjects like Engineering drawing, kinematics of machinery, Fluid mechanics, Strength of materials made me enthusiastic while learning it and triggered me to learn more about these subjects. Also semester exams made these learning to put it into paper for marks. So the exam structure is that there will be a 2 semester exams in a year so totally there will be 8 semester exams in 4 years which is course period. There will be 6 subjects in each exams with different subjects as well as practical exam to test practise and test our skills. Exam duration is of 3 hours and maximum marks for each exam is 100(marks).

The placements are very good in such a way that out of 65 students opted for placements in our mechanical department nearly 60 had got job in good companies. Some of the reputed companies include TATA motors, Renault and Nissan, Scheinder electric, Bajaj automobiles, L&T infotech, TCS, Ford automobiles, Amazon, Titan, Ashok leyland( hinduja group) etc.,. My college also provided for some internship and industrial visit programs. I have gone internship to Ashok leyland for 10 days and overall experience in exploring this was valuable. I have came through a different atmosphere and learned many things. There is no stifend for my internship program as the days are minimum.

There are many events that took place in my college. Some of the events include 1.annual day, 2.sports day, 3.cultural day, 4.events in Independence day,republic day, Gandhi jayanti etc.,. So the purpose of ANNUAL DAY is to celebrate the college anniversary. In this day, various events will be organised by students and awards will be given achievers in academics. Also, awards will be given to best performing students and faculties. SPORTS DAY was celebrated for encouraging well performing students in sports. There will group of games like cricket, basketball, football, kabaddi, athletics events in which students participate and prove their own skills and talents. Awards will be given for outstanding students. CULTURAL DAY was celebrated in order to praise our own heritage, culture,diversity of the college and the country. As India is diverse country it is essential to celebrate it in our colleges. There will be dance, singing events which gives joy while listening.

For me the fees structure is FEASIBLE because there are many facilities in my college in comparison with others. There are good infrastructure such as ventilated and enough spaced classrooms, good laboratories,good playing grounds, well educated staffs etc.,.

Yes I have not availed any scholarship. But my friend was benefited by this. His father was ex-serviceman and he came through entrance exam and not by counselling process. So my college reduced the fees drastically for him to join our institution. Other than this, my college was offering some PG scholarship those who are willing to do Post graduation abroad.

Yes, there are many extracurricular activities like sports, competitions etc. My college participated and bagged many prizes in global and national level competitions. Also my college had bagged some prizes in sports at zonal level, district level, state level, national level competitions. One notable is that our college secured secong prize in sepak tehraw at national level.

Yes I had opted for hostel. The infrastructure of the hostel was very spacious. There are many rooms in our hostel building with 3 floors consisting nearly 300 rooms and each room has the capacity to accommodate 4 students. There was a good toilet facilities. Mostly importantly the mess where we eat was very clean and the hostel food was also good to eat.

Yes we had a alumni meeting last month. I had seen my own friends and faculties after long time. We had an alumni group in WhatsApp. We speak frequently through this group some important events. There are helpful in knowing about recent developments in our college and helps us keep in touch with our friends and faculties.

I have got 96% in 12th standard board exam with 196.25 cutoff out of 200. After the results there is a engineering counselling that took place in Anna University guindy campus. I have participated in that to get a good college for doing my Under Graduate course. The counselling process took place in a way that those who have best cutoff marks gets best colleges. So I got a good cutoff so I took Psg institute of technology and applied research.

Faculties of my college are so knowledgeable in their own subjects and fields. They are friendly and so experienced. I had a opportunity to spend some precious time with some of my well experienced faculties. Through my interaction with them I came to know many things beyond my subjects. Some of the good qualities that I have obtained beyond my subject knowledge include discipline, respecting others, patience etc.,. Which are essential in our society as well.
