U love my college. It is the best that I could ever get. In the twin City of Hubli and Dharwad, SDM is the best college ever and worth every penny. The 4 years spent here were amazing and memorable. Just that there are a political disadvantages but then that's everywhere.
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about the curriculum, its the old school way! Concepts are taught to us at a bare level and it helps us get our basic knowledge strong and hard! The curriculum was not industry specific but industry generic so that anyone can fit anywhere. Industrial visits were not allowed. And that is one thing that SDM can improve upon!
Placement Experience
Many companies visited our college. Some of them being Oracle, TCS, InsZoom, Accenture etc. The general steps in recruitment started with an entrance exam continued by coding rounds and then personal interview and the final HR round. Around 70% of the students get placed every year.
College Events
There are 2 events celebrated in our college. An Internal fest and the major one is Insignia, the inter-college fest. This includes a lot of collaboration between different colleges and the amalgamation of people of different kinds and societies for the socioeconomic cause.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is quite expensive. Some people can afford it but some people cannot. This is the fee structure everywhere. But this, i feel is a very decent amount considering the inflation rates. There are no additional fees other than the college fees and this is one good thing about SINCERELY
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, I had opted for scholarship and that is why my yearly fees was not 90,000 but if was 15000. I know that it took me a lot of efforts and hard work to get this scholarship and it is worth the spend.
Campus Life
About the gender ratio, as of what I have seen, the girls to boys ratio is 40:60. About the parties, as I was. Fay scholar, I did not know anything about hostel parties. But this is one famous thing about SDM hostel life is, parties. Tolerances with regard to gender is normal here. People stand up for themselves.
Alumni/Alumna
There are 2 kinds of seniors. One of them are the generous and the kind ones of whom people take advantage of! The other kind are the "tharki" ones. The ones who are in constant search of advantages that they will get by talking to a junior.
Admission
I gave Karnataka CET to get into this college and my rank was 7000 odd. It was easy to get into this college. It was an amazing experience. Such good expertise. The knowledge that was imparted on us was mind flattering. The way in which the lectures help us in gaining what we desire is the best, what I like about SDM.
Faculty
There are about 25 lecturers in our department alone. Not many of them are PhD holders. But the ones which are, are for maintaing the count. The PhD holders who are permanent now, are the ones which have the best knowledge of all and they help us though our think and thin whenever we need them.
