Master of social work, i choose this course because this course given me dual specialisation in Human resource managemnt nd community work, written test of this course includes the subject of socialogy, history, english nd Maths.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum was very qualitative nd Modern.which includes theory and also practical field work.more ever every day we had to give group discussion on our subject topics, and in every week there was also presentation day, wher we have to give presentation for what we did in our field work.

Internships Opportunities

I did two internships during my masters. First after 2nd semester & second after 4th semester. My first internship was in a reputed NGO, PRADAN in Chattisgarh & my second internship was in Heinz Limited Aligarh. In my first internship i was offered Rs. 5000/- per month & Rs. 8000/- per month in second internship. Both my internship experiences were very good, i learned a lot about the practical aspects of my course.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was quite cool. Gender ratio was good. There were different clubs & societies like sports, cultural, educational etc. Seminars, workshops & symposiums were organized quite frequently on various topics. The campus atmosphere in general was very healthy with regard to gender, ethenicity, race, religion, politics & economic standards because there was no discrimination on any of the above grounds & everyone got equal opportunity to prove him/her self irrespective of their affiliation, inclination, orientation, views etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facility was good, normal size room .As far as food is concerned it was not that much good, sometimes we found stones in pulses nd rice.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is very robust & vast. Its spread around the world. Alumni meet is organized every year. Seniors have been quite helpful & guiding with regard to overall college life. I have interacted with few of my course alumni. I got placed for summer internship in a reputed corporate through my alumni. My seniors were like my mentors guiding me not only in academics but personal life too.

Exam Structure

Exam structure was, i wil say niether too much Hectic nor too chill, as we got ample of prepartion leaves before Examination.

Faculty

Faculty of my university was well qualified, experienced & had very rich practical exposure. The teaching methodology was not the normal note giving or rote method of learning but was a mix of theory & practical in real life situations & examples. Their t

Placement Experience:

The placement here at Sharda was too good. Students start attending the Placement interviews and calls from the last semester. I was personally made into 4 companies and 4 offer letters were offered to me. The average package is 3.8 lakhs per annum and highest was about 11 lakhs. There is 100% placement in every dept. but it depends on students if they want to attend or not. After getting the degree i studied for my PhD entrace and now i am working.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I wanted to become an English Professor, the course really helped me a lot in getting an insight into English Literature. The professors are very encouraging. The curriculum not only relies on the traditional method of teaching but also various co curricular activities are conducted to prepare the students for the real world. Each student is given an opportunity to prove herself. As the exams are conducted annually we get a lot of time to prepare accordingly.

Overall, I can say that my experience of the college for postgraduate degree is good as of now. Although the course is good, but, I would want more focus to be put on practical learning because after all, it is a practical subject. Other than that, I am content with the facilities provided by the college. I was very interested in the subject and love it personally, so it is a great experience for me.
