My college review

Positive remarks:The campus environment is quite peaceful and secure.The is almost no ragging in our campus.The campus has foreign students also.Also placement scenario is preety descent. Negative remaks: academic work load is very high and attendance is pretty rigorous.

The course curriculum is preety balanced.It includes all the important subjects mainly followed in all IITs and based on gate syllabus.The exams are conducted in two parts: Mid-sem(30 % weightage) End-sem(50 % weightage) Teacher's assesment (20% weightage) Questions in the examination are mainly based on the topics covered in the class.and the teacher's assessment is based on class tests, assignment.etc. Attendance is pretty strict in our college.

Placement and job opportunities are pretty good.Almost all the top companies visit the campus for internships and placement s.Our college also provides summer internship and dedicated research internships.I am placed in an American multinational company through internship offered to me on campus. Average packages offered are also pretty descent.

Our college hosts annual sports events. It also hosts tech event named innovision each year which saw a participation of about 2000 students from various colleges this year.apart from this annual cultural event in the form of Nitrutsav is also conducted.

Since our college is funded by the central govt. The fee structure is based on the policies formed by the central government. It is feasible for most.economically backward students and category wise reserved students have fee waivers.

Loan facility is offered by state bank on campus.I did summer internship at D.R.D.O chandipur.It was mainly a summer intern based on their ongoing project.Most of the students interested in research also went for reputed foreign internships like mitacs and daad-wise.

The campus has support for all kinds of sports like cricket( a dedicated cricted ground), basketball courts, badminton courts in each hostel, swimming pool facilities.gym facilities are available in each hostel and there is a central gym also. Lab facilities are there for each engineering department. Almost all the labs have modern equipment and facilities.

Hostel infrastructure:4 out of 5 Food:2 out of 5 Security:4 out of 5 Cleanliness:4 out of 5 Other amenities:4 out of 5 Hostel has facilities like gym,reading room,common room,cycle parking stand.room size is bit small.

The college has a pretty strong alumni network.It also has a association in the form of NITRAA which meets each year.Some of the renowned alumnus include C.P.Gurnani,Akash khurana,Nalini ranjan mohanty,ranjan dash.yes they are helpful mainly through the NITRAA network.

I got admission through Josaa counseling based on an all India rank which was generated on the basis of jee-mains marks (60% weightage) and normalised class 12 marks(40% weightage).The josaa round usually have 4 rounds,and a special round in certain cases to fill the vacant seats in NITs.

Most of the teacher's in the college hold Phd degrees from either IITs or other renowned foreign universities.Most of them have dedicated research fields.They may not be the best at teaching but most of them are pretty helpful.
