Campus Job Placement needs improvement. Faculty should also groom students about new technology and softwares used by companies. The curriculum should be revised and updated to the new standards. More emphasis on extra curricular activities.
Course Curriculum Overview
The couse covers a wide variety of subject relating to engineering, science and maths. There are 8 semester in the 4 year Curriculum. Each exam is 80 marks with 3 hrs time. There are usually 6 subjects in each Semester.
Placement Experience
No, our college does not provide internship. The Alumni Association also helps the family of distressed Alumni or current students of JGEC financially through 'Distressed Fund' of the Association. College also provide Half Fee or Full fee Scholarships. But no paid internship.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Feasible, as it's a govt. college, so the college fees are not so expensive. The figure is affordable. For ECE, CSE students the fees are INR 7510/- , for CE, ME, EE students the fees are INR 5510/- and for IT students INR 12000/-. Those students who are suffering from financial problems get the facility of Full-Fee-Scholarship & Half-Fee-Scholarship.

Campus Life
We have Sports club, Trekking Club, Centre for Innovation, Photography Club , Coder's Club , Musoc Club , Dance Club, Drama Club, Jyoti- The free Night Education Center. The college has two main functional stadiums- The "Oval" cricket and Athletic stadium and The Football playground. Every year the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College organises the Annual Sports Meet generally in the winter. JGEC also organises Cricket premier league (CPL) and Torneo de' Futbol
Admission
You have to Graduate 12th with science. Then apply for West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination(WBJEE). If you qualify with proper rank then counseling will take place. You will be selected in colleges affiliated with WBJEE and get a college according to your merit.
Faculty
The faculty is always there to clear your doubts. The will provide extra classes if the whole class insists. They will help you with your projects and show you the correct path. Faculty has the utmost respect for the hard-working students.
