Remarks
GNDU is not a bad institute but has outdated subjects and none of the subjects are taught in-depth. The university should update their subjects and should teach them in depth.
Course Curriculum Overview
To be honest, GNDU is not as much good as it used to be. The staff is good. But the course doesn't consist of relevant and updated subjects. They are teaching with that old data, they used to teach earlier. Also, you will not find depth in most of the subjects.
Placement Experience
The placement cell of this university is much better. Placements of some other colleges also happen in GNDU. Different companies come to the campus for hiring. These include SAP Labs, TCS, Wipro, Capgemini etc. Among these SAP Labs holds the highest package. Most of the students get placed every year. But, students have to prepare themselves for these placement tests.
College Events
There are two annual events: Youth Fest(inter-college) and Jashan(interdepartmental). Other than these there are many workshops and tech fests. This also includes DJ and many foods and game stalls. These events also include many fun events and games.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I think the fees for this course are more than expected. Regional campuses and colleges under GNDU has very fewer fees. Also, college demands tuition fees in the last semester, which is the training semester and there are no classes in this semester. The mode of payment is flexible, as you can play offline in a bank or online.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offer scholarships to special class students(SC/ST/OBC). Their fees are very much less as compared to other students.
Campus Life
Overall, campus life was very good. There is no discrimination between genders. Social and cultural events are held on the campus to provide something beyond education. You can also take part in sports and other activities. Labs are neat and clean. Systems are updated and there is a minimum of 2-3 labs in a week.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are always helpful to the juniors as they have experience and they guide the best. They also guide how to deal with different subjects.
Admission
I went on this subject as I wanted to do my graduation in the computer science field. Also, this is the best-known university in Punjab with affordable fees. Admissions to BCA/MCA in GNDU always happens through an entrance test. But in the year 2016, it happened on the basis of the 12th result. But, now again admissions are based upon entrance tests.
Faculty
In BCA, there are around 7-8 subjects. Classes are off on Saturday and Sunday. Each subject has a minimum 4 lectures a week. Overall the faculty is good. Most of the teachers here are experienced. Taking the subject matter apart, teaching faculty teaches in a good way. Also, the office staff is friendly. Again I would say, the university should update the subjects and should teach them in depth.
