The college management is good except it should be more friendly towards students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is relevant. The subjects are very interesting. Mechanics, thermodynamics, material science, manufacturing, ac and refrigerators are the most important subjects. Workshops and Autocad labs are important. But the curriculum needs to be updated to cope with industrial needs. The students have to do industrial training on their own.
Placement Experience
92% of the total students are placed in different companies this year. 2. The highest salary offered was 30 lakh. The lowest salary is 8 lakh. Average salary is about 18 lakh.TCS, Tech Mahindra, Infosys come to recruit from the mechanical department of jgec. Roles like the designer, worker in factories are given to the students. 100% of students got internships in various companies like DSP, NTPC, Mahindra and Mahindra and other big companies.
College Events
There are many events celebrated in our college. The most important is the tech fest called Sristi and the cultural fest called Jeclat. Holi is also celebrated. Sports day is held for 2 days each year. Saraswati puja, Vishwakarma puja is held in the college. Independence day is also celebrated.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees per semester are Rs 5500 on an average. The fees are very low as it is a government college. Students have to pay exam fees also. Yes, the college provides transparency in the fee breakdown. Submitting fees is also very easy and does not include any hectic ways.

I haven't opt for any scholarships. Scholarships here are mainly for st, sc and obc. Minorities also get scholarships.
Campus Life
Campus life is very enjoyable and cool. Scenic beauty adds essence to the campus. Female in engineering college as usual is very low as compared to the male students. All students engage in various activities like sports, dance, drama, writing, art and music.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni is very helpful. They provide books and other scholarships. They help us in several ways. Seniors are also great expect few.
Admission
I gave the wbjee entrance examination. I always wanted to deal with machines. So I opted for mechanical engineering. The college has a good reputation and a large campus. Mechanical engineering is one of the best streams in jgec. The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable. After wbjee ranking, I got this college and a date was given and we had to go to the college campus for admission.
Faculty
The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable. They help us whenever we go to their cabin. They ask us to call them anytime we don't understand any part of the syllabus. There are lectures every day. Sunday is holiday. Teachers use projectors to teach students.
