One of oldest college of Himachal

College is just ok, self-study is everything here and I don't think it grooms skills into students. It is just an average college. Just get your degree and pursue it further. There is not much pressure and life is enjoyable.

Life was easy and joyous at college. Except, during the final year I do not focus much on my studies. Exams were only twice a year. UP TO second-year attendance was nothing to worry about, we bunked classes and enjoyed. In the final year 75% attendance rule came out and we became focussed on studies.

No job placements, nothing like that except some job fairs. As this college was limited to BSc, BA, MA, MSC, BCA, BCOM, AND THERE NO VOCATIONAL COURSES/ TECHNICAL COURSES no company had an interest in offering placements.

The annual function was the due matter, apart from that various events/contests, etc were organized by various organizations throughout the year. Sports events also were organized from time to time. But the scale of functions was just normal.

Very low and affordable fee. The expense was much less than school time. Even the annual fee was less than one-month fee of my school. Being a Government college everything was subsided, so the expense was almost nil.

During my time there were no scholarships, now scholarships have been introduced, more than RS 10000 per year. No requirement of loans was there, being government college with negligible fee. The loan was not a matte.

College is adjacent to only sports ground of the city and same is muti supports ground. The college has sufficient labs in Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Botany, Zoology, and Computer lab. There is one canteen and one GYM.ALSO, the college HAS SUFFICIENTLY LARGE LIBRARY. College HAS CONFERENCE HALL, AUDITORIUM, AS WELL AS STAGE.

There were hostel rooms for girls and boys, but boys hostels were transferred to IIT DURING MY COURSE. Girls used to prefer hostels while boys stayed at affordable rented rooms. My place is not much costly, so RENTED ROOMS/ PGs everything affordable.

There is no Alumni network. Neither Alumini's invited during our time, nor we have been invited ever. Graduated in 2008, but heard nothing from college in the last 12 years. There is no society/ group) club/ association of Alumini's.

My admission was easy, no entrance, and merit was not much to worry about. I had completed 10+2 with Science, so further continued graduation in science. Just filled the prospectus and I was in. Nothing like selection. During my time everyone was going for engineering, so I easily got admission to this college.

The faculty was well qualified with exception of some PTA/ Contractual lectures, such exceptions had entered into the field with a political approach and we're waste. Regular teachers were quite intelligent and were toppers of their time.
