Sports facility is very poor, need to improve the hostel infrastructure. The faculties have to interact more with the students. Some corruption in the College is also a major issue of the College. College need some more fame. Companies for the placements must have to increase.

Here many courses are provided such as B-tech, M-tech, Phd, Msc, MBA. I'm doing B_tech here. There are total 8 semesters in the whole b_tech, 2 semesters per year. Higher studies course syllabus encourages the stufents to do research, also the faculty here doing so much of consultancy and research work for the organisation, which makes things easier for the students to do research in any field they want.

Placements and job oppurtunities are moderate not exceptionally good. As this is the institute under central government so it provides stipend to M_tech, Phds students according to the government rules, somewhat 12,400 for M_tech students. Many companies come for placements like MICROSOFT IND, GOOGLE IND, TCS, INFOSYS, DAIKIN, TATA STEEL, JINDAL STEEL, VEDANTA resources and many more. The placements in IT sector is good while for the core branch it is average. Many companies also come for internships like TATA STEEL, DAIKIN, JINDAL STEEL, MICROSOFT IND, UBER.

Many events orgaised in the College like 1. INSTRUO, the largest tech-fest of kolkata, 2. Ted-x, a renowned event. 3. Scintillations, organisef by Enterpreneurship development cell 4. INITIUM, a mining tech-fest and many more

The fee structure is according to the central government rule. Around 65,000 is the tuition fees per semester for B_tech students, which is quite more. It is a central government institute so tuition fees waiver facility is available according to the family annual income. Like if your family annual income is below 1 lakh there is full tuition fee waiver, if it lies between 1lpa and 5lpa, 2/3rd of tuition fee waives.

Scholarship is provided by many organisation like GAABESU, a organisation of the alumni of the College and many more. I don't know much about this because I'm not availing any tyoe of scholarship from the College.

Sports facilities are very poor, there are two grounds for all the sports, a basketball court and a badminton court in the whole campus of College. As the sex ratio is quite low because of engineering. Diversities are there in the College, students from every corners of the country as well as across the country came here and doing their courses. No any parties of students are there only senate is made. There us no any discrimation done on the basis of caste, religion in the College campus.

Hostel facilities are moderate even lower than average. For first year students hotel rooms are alloted with four students, it continues to 2nd year and then you got a chance to live in a single room after 2nd year. Hostel facilities are not good, the conditions of room are average. Infrastructure of some hostels are giid while some have very bad. Hostel seats are enough to accommodate all the students.

Yes, the alumni strength of our College is very good. They are very helpful to you in industries as well as in every situation happened in the College. Seniors, whether they are of your department or not, they are very helpful, the interaction between senior and juniors are quite good in the campus.

I wrote JEE MAIN in 2017 and got 30k rank in general category, So I chose to do engineering, and I got a mining engineering stream through counselling done by JOSAA. I chose this College because this is second oldest engineering College in India, and due to its quality and location I choose this College. Also the rank of IIEST shibpur in MHRD rank is 17 that time in 2017.

The faculty are very experienced doing their Phd in at least foreign Colleges or in IITs. Here the faculty has so much years of experience of teaching as well as in industry too. Available faculties in College are enough to maintain the dignity and level of College.
