Remarks

Ragging is a bit serious in our college, although it's not physical. Still the mental torture the first years face is a menace. Otherwise all aspects of my college are good and everything seems to work fine.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS curriculum is a very hectic and demanding course, it requires one to devote oneself both physically and mentally. Starting from the first year, till the final year, one can't have a loose breath. The exam structure is very strict. With a vast course, the passing marks are 50%. Still many fail to cross the line and have to give a supplementary exam.

Placement Experience

5

Yes, our college provides internship of 1 year, with a monthly stipend of RS 63,000. Mentioning about the job opportunities, it is a sureshot job where one doesn't need to think of anything and a government job is fixed for every doctor who is a passout of our government college.

College Events

4.5

Our college helds many cultural events throughout the 5 years, regularly. Wild extravaganza, fun , frolic. It's a occasion where everyone gives out the frustration of studies and go haywire. Annual functions are the greatest one of all.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very cheap, being a government college, the annual fee amount is RS 30000 only. With the additional amount of RS 10000 hostel fees. And the extra mess fees of probably 10000 per year. And the extra money spent on books

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many loans available, student loans by state bank of India are the best. Literally the best. Nothing compared to it. It will make you study for free and then when you start earning, you can repay.

Campus Life

3

Sports are really good and well appreciated in our college, there are a lot of games to choose from, like basketball, chess, volleyball, cricket, football and many more. Fine arts is well appreciated in our college

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes, I have opted for the hostel. We have 4 hostels. New gents Hostel-3, new gents Hostel-4, old gents hostel, new gents hostel. I live in New gents hostel 4. It has got a good infrastructure. But the other hostels are a bit bad in shape.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the seniors are of a great help to us, they provide us with valuable information and knowledge, sometimes they teach us. They give us their books to study. Sometimes they do our ragging but it's fine.

Admission

I qualified the national level NEET examination in 2019. I got the state rank 200 and ALL INDIA RANK 8625. First we had a document verification procedure. And then we had a medical test. At first I was admitted to VSSIMSR, BURLA in the first counselling round, held at bhubaneswar. And then in the second counselling, I got into SCB medical college and hospital, cuttack. Then again I had to do a medical test and a few formalities to take admission.

Faculty

4.5

SCB medical college cuttack has the best faculty in odisha and is currently ranked 14th best college in India. Starting from the non clinical subjects to the para clinical and clinical subjects, faculty is very strong in what they do for us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well organized by the authorities based on the latest medical aspect of our society. Practical classes and regular postings in hospital helps in better understanding. Being the only hospital in nearby cities, our hospital provides us a good exposure to varity of cases. Our Associate proff and HODs also look upto them and help us gain more real world experience. The best aspect of this field or if I have to say Why have I chose it is to serve the society. Absence of well qualified doc at the times of emergency is one of the leading causes of mortality in developing countried like India. Being in this profession, I just want to help people around me.
