Review of CGEC

Our college is not having the faculties of the Mechanical Department, that will come regularly to the college and teach the students on a regular basis. The faculties of the other departments is well and good.

The Course Curriculum is a bit lengthy as we get less time and more of holidays to complete the syllabus. Exams are conducted on the practical and theoretical basis with four internal exams and class attendance and performance along with the assignments being the assessment criteria of a student.

Internships and Jobs are till now offered off-campus. Companies have visited our college for various workshops, but till now the students of 4th year, who have got a job, are the ones of off-campus, i. e, by giving interviews and exams on their own efforts.

1. Esperanza (College annual Fest)- It is a technical fest of three days in which different colleges come and participate in the technical events and the cultural events are performed by the talented students of our own college. The last of the fest witnesses the performance of some good well-known music band. 2. Inter-department Cricket: This is an event where teams of every year and every department participate to win the trophy. 3. Inter-department Football: This is also an event where teams of every year and every department participate to win the trophy. 4. Inter-department Volleyball: This is one more event where teams of every year and every department participate to win the trophy. 5. Futsal- This is a night Franchise Football league where owners buy players and the players sweat it out ti win the Championship. 6. All department Football: An event where a single team constitutes all the years from the same department and they compete for the trophy. 7. Vishwakarma Puja- Lord Vishwakarma is worshipped. 8. Saraswati Puja- Goddess Saraswati is worshipped. 9. Iftaar Party- The Muslim brothers unite and give an Iftaar party to the rest of the others. 10. Croeso (Freshers): A freshers party to welcome the 1st years. 11. Departmental Freshers- for every department. 12. Teacher's Day- To show our love and respect towards our teachers and professors. 13. Departmental Teacher's Day- for every department. 14. Republic Day 15. Independence Day 16. Swami Vivekananda's Birth Anniversary Few more events are there but, I don't want to bore the reader much because of my long answers.

The fee structure is very much feasible. ?12,330 for the Computer Science and Engineering and for the Electronics and Communication Engineering at the time of admission. ?8,330 for the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering at the time of admission.

Our college offers Half-free and Full-free scholarships to the students having family income less than 2. 5 lacs and 1lac respectively. The minorities and the backward castes are enjoying scholarships like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship and Oasis Scholarship. Me being an ISC board student with a general caste and religion being Hindu, is not able to enjoy any of these scholarships.

Football, Volleyball and Cricket are the 3 sports that are played in our college. Girls have an extra spoon-marble race in the field of sports. The talent from our college in these sports is pretty much good. Our college football is one of the bests in North Bengal.

Not all the seniors, but many of them are very helpful to their juniors. Alumni has not been created yet, as this is the year when the first batch of the college will pass out. The college started at 2016, so alumni will be created next year.

I cleared the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations examinations securing a rank of 18487, and after that, I got admitted into this college in the Mop up round of Counselling of WBJEE. I chose this college in while locking the choices, and by god's grace, got admission.

The faculty is mostly good, some are exceptional, but overall, the faculty is good. One professor of Electronics and Communication department have got the best professor award in the whole MAKAUT University.
