Decent One - [NIT], Pondicherry

Positive: A very quiet place. Beach in walking distance. Pollution-free environment. Negative: Not good food. Far from the main city. Not no proper transportation facilities. Very salty water. Very hot place.

The course curriculum is like any standard B.Tech curriculum 8 semesters 3 exam in each semester 2 of which is Cycle Test each of 20% weightage and end semester exam of 50% weightage rest 10% weightage is of assignments.

Placements are good and a lot of companies visit the campus during the placement season. The only problem is the placement percentage is not good but if you are decently good in the studies you will surely get placed. The average package like most of the new NIT's is near 4 lacs.

The college celebrates a lot of festivals a being an NIT people from a lot of parts of India come and exchange their culture with each other also there are 2 official fests Le Ciel (the cultural fest) in the month of September or October and Gyanith (tech fest) in the month of Feb.

Feasible and also there is a fee concession if the family annual income is less than 5 lacs. The hostel and mess fee is 24000 for a semester for all while the institute fee is 67000 a semester. The fee for SC/ST students and the one with an annual income of fewer than 1 lacs is 5000 per sem. One with an annual income between 1 and 5 lacs has 1/3 of the fee.

The college doesn't offer any scholarships but the NIT students are entitled to a lot of government scholarships like FFE etc. There is an SBI bank branch in the college that gives student loans to the students of the college.

Boy to girl ratio in the college is 7:1 which is going to change as there is a new girls quota in the admission process. Students make lots of new friends and enjoy themselves a lot. There is a lot of diversity as being NIT students from many parts of India come here. Also, there is a newly formed student body that is early elected by the students.

Yes, the campus is newly built (2016) and thus all the facilities are at par with the current technology. The hostel is neat and clean since newly built bathrooms are daily cleaned and the common area is also daily cleaned rooms are cleaned between 10 to 17 hrs on students demand.

The seniors of the college are chill and cooperative there are no ragging cases. There are annual alumni meet in which the alumni give speak about life after college and guide us on how to be pre-prepared for the upcoming situation.

Admission was on the basis of the score in JEE Mains and all-India level entrance exam the 50 percent of the home state quota is given to the students of Puducherry and Andaman. After JEE the is a choice filling and based on rank in JEE and choice filled college is allotted.

All the faculty have proper qualifications but like any other college some faculty lack the interest to teach also there is a shortage of faculty so most of the time faculty who are not specialized in the course has to take the class course.
