Academy of Technology is a great engineering institution that raises engineers with sound knowledge about their respective fields. The college also comes with a high placement rate and ranks at the top in its district. Joining this institution has been a decision I never regret.

The course has a 4 year tenure and allows the students to get vivid ideas of their respective streams.The introductory first year is a recapitulation of the concepts learned during classes 11 and 12.The students step into their specific streams once they start their second year in college.The course lays an equal weightage on both practical and theoretical aspects of study.Students are allowed to appear for placements in their 3rd year and onwards.We have to sit for three examinations per semester.Two of them are internal examinations that are conducted by the individual colleges and the third, is the semester examination conducted by the University.The performance of students in the semester examination determines the eligibility of being promoted to the subsequent semester.The students are graded on a scale of O to F, O being the highest and F indicating a fail.

Academy of Technology is known to provide the highest placement rate in the entire Hooghly district, with almost 90 percent of its students being placed into MNCs every year.Academy of Technology does not host internship offers.However, the college issues leaves to the students asking it for internship purposes.Extra points are also awarded to students as per the regulations of the university.I am still a second year student.I haven't had the privilege of joining an internship yet.

Academy of Technology tries it's best to nourish the extra curricular abilities of students.The college provides enough platforms for the students to showcase their talents.1.REGATTA This is the Fresher's welcome offered to the new comers of the institution.The event is entirely organized by the second year students.Students from first and second years actively participate and entertain each other with their extra curricular talents. 2.ARCADIA This is the annual college fest that is conducted in April.It lasts for two days, the first day being a platform for the students themselves, to display their talents before the entire college, including the faculties.The second day is more of a treat to the students.A renowned artist is invited as the guest every year.The students get to witness the performance of the artist for an evening. 3.TECH FIESTA This is the annual technical fest hosted by the college where the students find a platform to both learn and exhibit their technical skills.Several innovative events are conducted by the organizing committee and the winners are rewarded with certificates of commendation. Apart from these major events, several quizzes, debates, painting competitions and other events are organized throughout the semesters.

The fee structure is feasible at Academy of Technology. The college charges an amount of 41,000/- as its fees per semester.However, trainings can cause an additional amount if 10,000/- to be issued in addition to the semester fees.The net expenditure over the 4 years is estimated to be around 4.2 lakhs.

The college does not have the right to provide scholarships as it is recognized under the state university.Being so, the institution is not entitled to grant any scholarships on its own.Doing so might lead to the dissolution of the affiliation with the university.

The college hosts laboratory classes for most of the theoretical subjects included in the course curriculum.They are supervised by lab instructors with commendable first hand experiences, who ensure the proper utilization of the laboratory classes by the students.Sports events like football and cricket tournaments are held once a year to encourage the sports lovers too. Various other extra curricular activities are held, the details of which have been discussed earlier.

Yes, the college provides an active network of alumni and past pupils who can be contacted at will.Contact numbers of the concerned members are shared on the official website.Senior students are indeed very compassionate towards the juniors.The strict absence of ragging has led to the development of a cherishable bond between students, irrespective of their years of study.This allows the students, especially the first years, to freely approach their seniors in times of difficulties.

The engineering colleges require the aspirants to take the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in order to be eligible for admission.The allotment of seats is done through an online counseling process that determines which college or stream a student is eligible for, based on the rank he/she has secured in the JEE.In 2018, I managed to secure the cutoff set by my college, thereby grabbing the opportunity for admission.

Academy of Technology houses a good number of faculties, a majority of whom carry an admirable educational background.Most of them have commendable teaching abilities and surely earn the respect of students within first few interactions.They are diligent and put in honest efforts for the betterment of their students.
