Remarks
Alma maters are always love. I will miss these four years of college always. It taught me many things and made me capable of facing the real unmasked unfiltered world. You will come across many kind of people in college and you need to choose your friends carefully.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is actually awesome but as everyone says we are engineers.We study just a day before exam so some courses seem really difficult to us.Apart from that I think some extra courses should be included which should be completely based on our interests.
Placement Experience
Yes our college does provides summer and winter internships and there are people getting into Google or Texas Instruments or PWC or Vedanta or even ISRO and so on companies just after BTECH with a really good pay scale.
College Events
We have our technical fest, Instruo the second largest in West Bengal and largest in Kolkata Our cultural fest REBECA, the four nights have plenty of unforgettable memories Our Drama fest ANURANAN,4 days, different production,home production and obviously theatre productions by famous theater groups and also inagurated by a really famous personality. Our music fest Oikotaan Every department has its own fest like Initium for mining, Vaidyutak for Electronics, Udbhabani for Civil.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It's around 67k per semester.Actually it's a bit high but always less as compared to private institutes.And ya government institutes can't work with a lower fees.So somehow it's okay.For underprivileged and reserved categories the fees is around 7k.
Fees and Financial Aid
I know that underprivileged students get tution fee waivers.The is some alumni base providing scholarships to unprivileged like the GABESU scheme.If u qualify for the scheme i.e.your annual parents income is less than 5 lakhs you will get exemption from tution fees.
Campus Life
The gender ratio has increased after the 14 percente reservation for girls.We have workshops of web development, robotics, app development, etc etc.We have different cultural societies like Robodarshan for robotics, Les Thespians for drama, Uphony for music, reflexobeta for dance.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes the seniors are extremely helpful.Ya but be ready to be ragged.Haha just kidding.The alumni base of IIEST is well established and spread throughout the world.The alumni are really helpful as they guide us what to do once we just contact or mail them.
Admission
Like every other science student engineering was my dream too.So like lakhs of others I also appeared for KEE Mains and was lucky enough to get selected among the too few rankers and got into IIEST.I got admission through JEE Mains.
Faculty
Okay so obviously Faculties having PHD degrees are really well qualified.Actually our professors have at least an PHD Degree and some even have a post doc degree.Some have also studied from IITs, the most prestigious institutes of India.
