Student life in Dyal Singh College

I had a very nice college life experience. I am grateful i studied in Dyal singh College DU. This college taught me many life lesseons. I would recommend this college to a student who want to experience extra curricular activities along with good quality studies. College atmosphere is very nice with a supportive and friendly student crowd.

Course curriculum is excellent. Course structure focuses on practical and theoritical aspects. Practicals were given equally importance alongwith theoritical studies. Labs were fully equipped and focus was on learning rather than let go. Labs helped in applying physics in real life by performing experiments. Exams were also scheduled wisely. Exam were held in a very good way with good seating arrangement and focused and applied syllabus.

Placement and job opportunities were also good in the campus. A placement cell was made which managed the placement and company recruitement notifications. Students were informed by the placement cell about the interships, and placement opportunities. Frequent notifications were sent. Though i did not go for internship but there were apmle opportunities.

Events were celebrated with great enthusiasm in the campus. Various technical events took place in which science exhibition was main. Cultural event of Du is very famous. Many celebrities are called for cultural events alongwith bands etc. Preparations were done very nicely and several college societies participates in them. Several inspiring campaign were also organised by the students. Game events were also held at time to time.

The fee structure is feasible according to me. The fee was nearly 15k per year. I think fee was not expensive and was feasible along with scholarships. I got scholarship on the basis of marks in 12th and got my full tution fees refunded.

I dont know about the loans availiblity. I availed scholarship from National Scholarship Portal. Scholarship was offered by National Scholarship Portal on the basis of marks in 12th. I applied for scholarship and submitted the required documents from college. Scholarship equal to tution fee was sent to my bank account.

Labs were fully equipped with required equipments and focus was kept on student learning and performing. Frequent extra curricular activities were organised by various societies created in college. The senior students ran the society and informed about the events time to time. Gender ratio was almost equal and both girls and boys took part in activities. Workshops were held based on science,arts and commerce. Students took part with interest and in large numbers in workshops. Many famous peoples came to college to organise workshops to inspire and encourage students. Student diversity was there in the campus. Students from all parts of the country could be seen. Northern students were in large number. Politics was one of the main thing. Student union was present in the college and politics was one of the most observed and student interest area.

There was no college hostel in the premises. I used to stay in a PG alongwith one of my classmate. The rent paid was 7000 with ac and electricity bill was not included. Two times meal was given by PG.

Senior students were very helpful. Senior students guided me in a very good and positive way and motivated me. Seniors gave me knowledge about management of studies and extracurricular activities. Alumini network was seen during student union elections. Many alumini comes to campus during election and cultural events.

I completed my 12th with 94% marks in science. I had keen interest in physics. I used to hear about Delhi University when i was in my school days. After completing my 12th i wanted to study in DU. DU cutoff are set very high. Though i secured 94% in PCM yet i didnt get admission in north campus in 1 st cutoff. I took admission in dyal singh college on the basis of merit. There was no interview.

The faculty was very supportive, helping and hard working. Teachers focused on teaching such that students must gain knowledge. They tried to give their best so that students can get the particular course. The teachers were very overwhelming and always appretiated students to ask doubs and problems. Teachers qualification were mainly MSc and doctrate. Several experienced teachers were also there who helped other teachers and students with their experience. Teachers also supported for extra curricular activities.
