Remarks

Well rounded college with NAC B Accreditation, the infrastructure is average, has a decent gender ratio, teachers are helpful and knowledgble, peers are least intrested in studying, average placements, regular classes and frequent labs, great fests, overall it is a OKAY place for your enjoyment but a really great place if you want to study! We have university toppers nearly every year from our college!

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Majority of the engineering exams in india are affiliated to the university named MAKAUT (earlier WBUT) so all colleges under makaut have same course structure and exam papers and all of them is outdated and are of zero use for a fresher to get a job. The course is full of unnecessary topics which are of no use to a engineering graduate, like biology. The exam papers are random with out of syllabus questions, sometimes they are really good papers though. So one needs to study on their own for a job. Labs are easy and chilled, college gives the marks for labs, and be prepared on the lab exam and attend 70% classes then u have a high chance of getting full marks. labs are frequent but rarely does any student get time for research, neither does the course is oriented in that way.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements are only done with pool campussing (more than one colleges take part for more than one company),even though our college students have a better chance of getting placed since the location is our college always. Startups are maximum with few reputed mass recruiters like TCS,COGNIZANT,INFOSYS,WIPRO etc. Last year the highest package was 9lpa for 4 students with one of them in Byjus. Internships are not given on behalf of college, you have to get one on your own but the college do help you manage your classes during that tenure.

College Events

3

We have a Tech fest (Innovention) which is fun with robotics being my favourite, quiz, etc nearly 20events lasting for two days, its fun overall and we create a lot of memories. Then we have Sports lasting for 3 days with events like Table tennis, volley, football, cricket, basketball, chess, badminton, etc Then comes the most awaited cultural Fest (Enthusia) lasting for 3 days, the first day is for freshers, and the next two days we have live concerts, ramp walk, dance, drama with well known artists and bands joining.

Fee Structure And Facilities

This is probably the cheapest private engineering college in West Bengal specifically in kolkata. Semester fees is 41k,and thats it. During admission you need to give 59k but that includes admission fees, first semester fees and councelling money.

Fees and Financial Aid

No schloarships are directly offered by college but you can apply for schloarships like Vivekananda schloarships offered by government of westbengal, but it is hectic and you have to go through a lot of hassle.

Campus Life

2.5

The college enviornment is really good,it is a ragging free campus, the seniors are friendly and extremely helpful and jolly, you can play anytime you want because the college ground is always filled with mechanical and civil students. Boys to girls ratio is 3:1,overall you can see quiet a number of girls be it in your peers or seniors or juniors, which left me surprised because i had a preconceived notion that girls don't really go for engineering these days but maybe i was wrong and glad about it.

Hostel Facilities

2

My friend opted for college hostel which charges Rs. 1500 per month with a caution money pre deposited. The rooms are big alloting atleast 4 students. But I would suggest you to take a mess or pg near the college, but make sure you book yours during admission because afterwards you might noot get a good room or even vacancy.

Alumni/Alumna

You can have nearly no contact with almuni, neither do i know of any alumni in a reputed dream product based company,so this aspect is very limited. Sure your immediate seniors are helpful and you can keep in touch with them, they might even help you to crack a interview and sometimes even consider you for a recommendation which plays a huge role for getting your first job belive me. But maximum alumini are getting call centre support jobs which makes you not want to ask them for help getting you a job.

Admission

I went through the Wbjee exam of 2018,and got this college through central councelling. i chose Computer science over any other course because i had Computer Science (python) in my AISSCE boards. I knew programming and i love it. Moreover cse is the best bet for engineering this days because other streams have nearly no job opportunities other than IT sector.

Faculty

4

The faculty of this college are really good, they will handle you just like you have taken a private tutor,he/she is knowledgble enough for you queries and more, they are helpful and guide you. overall you can rely on them. Even during exam hours they give u notes and last minute suggestions, once I had a doubt just before 1hour of the exam and I was able to call my professor and clarify the doubt because they are very friendly. If you are good in studies they might even ask your help for their M. Sc research works,so have a very high learning curve here.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
