Bengal College of Engineering and Technology- An Alumuni honest Review

Placements are not up to mark and the Faculties are not so good to be praised. Although marks matter to every student but Somehow I would Blame the faculties for the overall performance of the college.

Course curriculam was set so good by MAKAUT university, the 8 semester, all the internals and practicals organised by the university was so systemmatic and the internal examination was organised so well by the college administration. Exam structure was based on the syllabus as per set by the University.

Not clear about the internship, but college placements are not so good as shown in the college prospectus. For Computer Science and Information Technology Deptt. , the placements are 5/5 from my side. Because CS students are correctly placed around 40% and rest 30% are placed at underrated jobs and the rest 30% are still doing jobs at BPO sectors or unplaced. Talking about the core Deptts, Like EE, EEE, Mechanical, Civil etc are mostly placed at marketing companies like Extramarks, Byjus etc, i. e; underrated again. Some reputed companies like TCS, TechMahindra etc visits here for mass hiring which is the only hope for average students to get hired on a below average salary.

Numerous Events are celebreted and organised in this college like Independence day, Republic day, Annual day of Durgapur Public School (under my college administration). Also, some events are organised by the clubs like - Robonixx club organises Robotics Workshop and Robowars. EDC organises E-Week every year. Social Club(I don't remember the name clearly) organises Paper Drive, Aasha Event, Rangmanch etc every year before session ends.

Currently Each semester the fees is around 45k +-3000 excluding the hostel charges. At my time of admission(2015), I was charged 54000 lumpsum including the prospectus charge(1000), uniform charge(below 5000) and other charges.

The only avail I offered by my college was not even by my college, It was from the university side that It your earning member of your family dies then after his death you'll get every penny you paid to the college and the expenses gets free afterwards. But I was so harrased by running here and ther for the proper documents and sent to the University from the college side. And the university takes too long to refund the money. I am a waiting person for the refund from the university side. Although University approved my request and half of the fees was returned by my college(2 semester fees, because I was in 8th semester that time and my father died an year ago. ) Although I would request you to please make sure the University review this about my college and take furthur actions.

Sports are organised like cricket tournament, Basketball Tournament, Football Tournament etc Labs are avilable for every deptt. I would rate 5/5 for lab avilability, practical knowledge or every deptt. is maintained by the college administration.

Yes, I have opted for hostel, in 2015 I was charged 25,000 for the 2sharing(common bathroom) Now the charges have increased for ?2000 due to wifi connection introduced. Electricity bills are inclusive, I would rate mess mess food for first 15days- 4/5 and the rest when you get older in the hostel, you'll get to know that good food like hot chappatis and good quality food is transferred to senior mess on the other side, and the defected uncooked chappatis are sent here to 1st year mess. Every year new students protests and go to administration for this food quality issues, every year hostel incharge abuses the mess incharge in front of 1st year students, and the mess incharge promises to provide clean and worm free food to the students but its only for 2 3 days, and the usual shit you'll get afterwards. Talking about thr Rooms, there are 3 types- 2sharing- common bathroom 2sharing- attached bathroom Single Room- Attached bathroom Charges as per rooms respesctively.

College Only invites us for taking the respective degrees issued by the University. No other Alumini respect are provided or no events are organised by our college for alumuni network unless like B. C. Roy Engineering College.

I was admitted in this college hereby direct admission, and afterwards I was forwaded to councelling. After councelling, my draft worth ?20,000 was managed in my 2nd semester fees. I was admitted in the college on the basis of IIT- Mains rank as well as WBJEE ranking.

Faculty as per my opinion, I would rate 3/5 for the explanation given by the faculties in the class. I would rate 3/5 in doubt clearing. I would rate 4/5 for helping nature of the faculties. I would rate 4/5 for preparing the students for the cummulative examinations. Although I would rate 3/5 overall for the Faculties of this college.
