UBS: Exceeding Expectations

Overall, UBS is an amazing institution that strives to truly transform students into global citizens.

The curriculum is structured in a way that it promotes not only theoretical learning but also its application to real-life business situations. This is facilitated by industrial visits, case studies, assignments and other activities that contribute to not just the academic, but also the overall development of students.

The list of companies that visit campus for placements is not exhaustive. However, the faculty ensures that students are prepared for the placements. We are given guidance on CV-making, how to give interviews, etc.

The college hosts a range of events which are organised by the various student clubs. Festivals are also celebrated and the college approves any other events that the clubs propose. This includes sports, business events, cultural programmes and parties.

As compared to other colleges, the fee structure leans toward the higher side. Students also need to pay separately for accommodation and living expenses on campus (including canteen services). However, the college accepts flexible payments in installments. There is also a fee-breakdown available within the brochure.

I am not aware of any scholarship opportunities offered by UBS. However, students can opt for the "Earn While You Learn" program wherein students work for ExCoLearn Pvt Ltd, which is India's first student-run organization.

Life on campus is calm, yet upbeat. Even though we are surrounded by nature, the facilities on campus, like gym and outdoor games, coupled with events like MSR, the annual college fest, give a feel of the city-life that most students are accustomed to, all the while offering an opportunity to enjoy an easygoing environment.

The hostel infrastructure is attractive and all the facilities provided are up-to-date. The college promptly fulfils additional requests from students for re-furnishing, for example, painting of the hostel rooms, furniture requirements, maintenance and repairs, etc. The college goes the extra mile to ensure that UBS feels like home.

UBS encourages students to interact with seniors and alumni for guidance. This had greatly helped me navigate things like the admission process. In fact, during my campus visit before admission, I was introduced to current students in the program. They gave genuine feedback of the college which helped me decide that UBS is right for me.

The admission process was extremely convenient as there was constant guidance provided by the UBS admission team. The steps involved were a bit challenging and required me to demonstrate the skills and knowledge that would enable me to cope with the learning system in the college. These steps included an entrance exam called UBSAT followed by a personal interview round.

All of the faculty members have had experience in the industry and are fully equipped to impart relevant knowledge of the subject that they teach. The module material is delivered in a way that learning is pragmatic and enjoyable. Personally, I look forward to attending lectures each day because there is always something interesting to learn from our professors.
