Remarks

Just one issue, there needs to be Greater impetus for knowledge rather than just scoring marks. There seems to be too much focus on scoring marks and absolutely zero focus on learning and absorbing it for larger good across both the students and teachers. Also there seems to be a disconnect between the industry needs and what we're being taught at times, not always. There is also need for greater cooperation among departments to bring out the best in a student. Another aspect where DTU lacks is international exposure for its students. Like I've personally had the opportunity to go for a research conference to Shanghai, China, not many of my peers have.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was updated in the year 2015 if I'm not mistaken and has elements of the 21st century but the examination pattern is still very heavily based on the 20th century practises. We have we'll maintained labs, and have scheduled lab classes frequently which aim at giving the students practical knowledge of what he studies in subjective lecture classes. However, as DTU is yet to cater to a very large Masters degree program, we don't have a very intensive research culture, involving the bachelor's as yet. However, things are changing and changing for the better.

Placement Experience

5

This is one area where Delhi Technological University nails it. Even the NIRF rankings are a testament to DTUs excellence in thsi sphere. DTU ranks higher than most old IITs in the Graduation and Higher education column in the NIRF rankings. DTU has an excellent Training and Placement cell that caters to the growing need of the students with bringing to the table companies from all domains in excess. My personal experience with Internships has been a rather very positive one, I interned with a start-up based in Gurgaon, Towards Blockchain, and I was paid decently, about 15,000 a month, which for a first year student is more than decent. As far as the company's that visit us are concerned, you name a company, and it's there.

College Events

4.5

We have a plethora of events spread across the year. Our years starts with a Literature and Film making fest called Yuvaan. Then comes the Entrepreneurship Summit, followed by the cultural fest, To Engifest, which happens to be North India's largest cultural fest with footings of over a lakh. Next up is out technical fest called Invictus. End of the year comes our sports fest, Aavhaan.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Compared to the IITs, it's slightly cheaper. But compared to other colleges in Delhi University, it's mouth ballingly expensive. But I'm sure how correct it is to compare the two. It's around 1,66,000 a year for the tuition fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have personally not taken any loan or scholarship that the college provides but yes my friends have taken, a few of them atleast. Like if I'm not mistaken there is some partnership of the college administration with banks that give loans at subsidised rates. There are also scholarships available that are provided by our alumini to students for forthcoming deserving students. Also the college administration awards students with good grades at the end of every term in the form of medals which also carry a decent cash prize.

Campus Life

4.5

DTU boasts of an amazing sports complex. The sports complex is equipped with all modern facilities. The sports complex houses a 400 metre running track, a cricket pitch a cricket ground, football ground, small hockey turf, an indoor sports complex with three badminton courts which are lined with synthetic mats, indoor complex for table tennis, an open place for Kabaddi, kho kho and volleyball, also 3 well maintained lawn tennis courts are there. There is also facility for bodybuilders in the form of a main gymnasium, there is also a smaller gymnasium on the other side of the campus, there also a couple of open the gymnasiums in the campus. Plus the campus of over 150 acres has running tracks all across. Student politics is mostly an underlying phenomenon with absolutely nothing at the forefront as such. The gender ratio is poor as is with all top engineering colleges across the nation. The culture on the campus is one of harmony and peace.

Hostel Facilities

4

Being an outside Delhi student I am entitled a room in the college hostel. So I have made use of that facility and have been given a room in the college hostel. The hostels are well equiped with all modern facilities. The washrooms are clean. The rooms have good electricity supply, though we are not allowed to keep any electrical appliances such as electric kettle or rod but we are provided with the same by college administration in the washroom in the form of a geyser. The hostel administration is also prompt in case of any complaints regarding any electricity problem or problem relating to water supply, or be it a problem relating to maintenance issues in the hostel. Also new hostels are coming up both for boys and girls which are 13 floors and will only improve the condition of hostels in the college. The mess food is also good and there is also facility of a night mess during exams.

Alumni/Alumna

Delhi Technological University benefits from the strong alumni network of the Delhi College of engineering which has people holding key positions at almost all key companies. This benifits the students who're looking for off campus opportunities and also improves the working environment for those who're placed in these companies.

Admission

So, like any other engineering aspirant, I prepared for the dreaded Joint Entrance Exam Mains and secured a rank of around 7,000 and qualified for the Joint Entrance Exam Advanced, which is primarily for the Indian Institutes of Technology, more commonly known as the IITs. I was successful is getting a seat at IIT-BHU, and ended up taking it through the JOSAA counselling. However, I had also got a seat in Software Engineering, Delhi Technological University through the JAC Delhi Counselling process. So, I had two options, 1. A not so popular branch at IIT-BHU 2. Dept of Computer Science at Delhi Technological University. I chose the later, and after having spent close to 1. 5 years, I'm more than sure that I made the right decision.

Faculty

4

The legacy faculty is top notch, they're best at their subjects probably in the whole country with and number of research papers, and book publications. However, the newer lot lacks in a lot of these places. However, it's not just their problem, even the student's aren't interested in studying, and end up missing classes very frequently.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
