Remarks

Positive- the boggest positive is that it is an IIT, so many concerns are waived off such as funds, recognition of work. Also the food of IIT BHU VARANASI is the best in whole INDIA. Negative - more strong alumni network should be formed to gather information and funds.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is well designed and meet the discipline requirements. Labs are well equipped and sufficient. The exams conducted are also beneficial. One improvement which I can think of is More stress should be given upon Practical engineering, more outside visits should be arranged so that the students may get the real feel of Engineering.

Placement Experience

4

Placement and job opportunities are excellent as far as non -core placements are concerned. When it comes to core departments such as Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering etc. , more focus is needed on this. The package offered is very less in core companies as compared to other non -core opportunities.

College Events

5

Techno-management fest- Technex Cultural fest - Kashiyatra Sports fest- Spardha TECHNEX - It is an Annual Techno- Management fest of IIT BHU VARANASI consisting of series of events such as La-trajectoire, Robonex, Pahal, Byte the bits etc. Colleges and Schools from all around the country participate in the fest. KASHI YATRA - Kashiyatra, the Annual Socio Cultural festival of IIT(BHU) is a three-day fiesta, held in the holy city of Varanasi. It encompasses enchanting fusion of literary musical and artistic events. It is north India's largest cultural festival and takes place within Asia's biggest residential university, BHU. SPARDHA - Spardha is the All India Games & Sports Festival of IIT (BHU), Varanasi. In its glorious history of 32 years, Spardha has grown to become the largest and most awaited sports festival of the country, where athletic competition is drawn from throughout the country. Each year, thousands of participants, from over 100 technical and non-technical institutions compete in an array of sports like hockey, basketball, cricket, boxing, tennis and many more, creating a stunning spectacle of exceptional fervidness in athletic talent. The festival is embraced by one of the best gatherings of celebrated sports persons and a spirited audience. Spardha has been graced by eminent personalities like Mr. V. V. S. Laxman, Ms. Sakshi Malik, Mr. Dhanraj Pillay, Mr. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in the past, and has established itself as a brand amongst college festivals. The last edition of Spardha witnessed a footfall of around 35,000 and a reach of over 5,00,000

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was feasible before 2016, but after the 2014-15 session, fee structure was reformed in all the IITs and was raised enormously placing extra burden on the students and thereafter, studying in IITs became expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarships are available in college if you are above average student. The best one is Merit cum Means(MCM) scholarship which is provided to many deserving students. Also other scholarships are present to avail for meritorious students.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio is not very much good in all the IITs (approx. 1:10). The extracurricular activities are at best level, and there is no as such issues as far as tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation etc are concerned.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel infrastructure in IIT BHU consist of two parts, Old and New hostels. The old hostels are very much charming, full of peace and calmness, greenery but lack some of the finishing qualities. And the new hostels are very good as per overlook qualities, but lacks the space amd openness which was in older hostels. The rent in IIT BHU VARANASI hostels is nominal, so it is not an issue.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is good, they are very much helpful and interactive. But more work is needed to gather all the alumni on a same platform for the benifit of students so that they also get a chance of good interaction with fellows.

Admission

Studying in Indian Institutes of Technology is everyone's dream in India, to get admission into IITs, one has to clear one of the best exams conducted in India, JEE (Advanced). So, I have also cleared this prestigious exam and got admission into IIT BHU VARANASI. The disciplines are offered on the basis of merit list. The Admission process is very good as the level of examination is at par level, which shakes the thinking ability of a 12th class student.

Faculty

4

Faculty provided in the college is very good, well interested to teach, keen to help in research work. Faculty is well experienced but some professors are not updated to the current world, they need to be more updated. IIT(BHU) has been nationally acclaimed for imparting technical knowledge in diverse fields and has recently concluded its centenary celebration.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
