Remarks
At our time chance of getting job was better than now. Still it is good college if you atay serious about classes and study. Nearby peole are also nice. And I should mention the name of few persons like Nabin da, Asim da and others who runs canteen and also keeps good relationship with students and alumnies.
Course Curriculum Overview
4 years of course, if you have completed your 12th standard and qualified through Joint Entrace exam. If you completed diploma then 3 years course for B. Tech. Two semesters each years. Labs and workshops are very good. But due to lac of interest and lac of faculties those are not being utilized properly.
Placement Experience
Now a days campus opportunities are above average for civil, mechanical and electrical engineers, below average for others. At my time it was very good for the above mentioned three and 70-80% for IT, CSE and ECE.
College Events
Lot of seminars happens here, every month there will br seminars from famous Govt. and few non-Govt organisations. The main festival is Jeclat which is the annual festival of the college happens betwren Feb and Mar each years includes 7days of cultural, technical and gaming festivals, blood donation camp and ends with 'Social nite' where knowned English, Hindi and Bengali singers and bands perform.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Five hundred per month for civil and mechanical engineers, one thousand for electrical and 2000 for other three which includes computer science, information technology and electronics and communication engineers.
Fees and Financial Aid
You will get both scholarship (if eligible) and loan very easily. But before admission bank cannnot provide you loan as they will need documents from your college. So you have to arrange the money for admission and counselling which will be within thirty thousand.
Campus Life
There are separate hostel and playground for ladies. You can go to the free gymnasium anytime you like. There is no political influence within college campus. Outside college gate there is highway and local shops where you will get the necessary things gor living in hostel.
Hostel Facilities
4000 per month which inclues everything. You will get water always, two times good food, lunch and dinner. First three years 3 sharing room, final years single room. You will get high speed internet, electricity, common room with games and tv, carrom boards on floor for free in hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
At my time there were very good seniors who helped us in learning and getting job from campus. Second year and third years students used to stay in same hostel at our time, so bond between us were strong. But now four separate hostels for four years.
Admission
I wanted to study Electronics and Communication Engineering and within best four colleges I choosed. I had options in other Courses in Kalyani Govt. Engg. College. But you should not choose ECE in the college due to very less number of faculties.
Faculty
In the college very good Faculties are available in Civil, Electrical and Mechnical. Avegrage for IT and CSE. Below average (very less number) for ECE. In my time there were bettet professors than now.
