BIT Mesra

Positive- The Location of the college is 15km away from the main city and the weather here is quite good. I bet after graduating from here the one thing you'll miss is the weather for sure. Negative- Lot of unnecessary pressure over students is given. Administration is not so much students friendly.

I am Pursuing Chemical - Plastics and Polymer Engineering. The Course is about the Chemical process involved in an Industry and the making of Polymers. Talking about Exams, it depends on your branch. For us its tough as our department sets hard paper but for Mechanical people its easy.

Placement is Awesome here. Total of 225 Companies visited our campus till January 2020 for this session and this will continue till May 2020. Average pakage is about 10 LPA. Our campus also provides Internship and the average stipend is about 20k per month. One more thing here the placement completely depends on your branch.

We have 3 big fests here with some small Club fests also. But I will talk about the big fests only. BITOTSAV( Cultural Fest)- Its the India's 2nd biggest fest after IIT Kharagpur's Spring fest. The fest is of 4 days with DJ and Pro nights in the Evening. The Pro night is reserved for the celebrities. Salim Sulaiman, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mithoon and many more are in the list. Pantheon (Tech Fest)- Its the technical fest with DJ nights in the Evening. Several colleges participate in it. Vajra (sports Fest)- A 3 days fest with a lot of events and about 20 colleges participate here. The evening is reserved for DJ nights.

Every year the fee structure changes. I think its a little bit expensive as compared to other colleges. Myself from 2016 batch paid around 9. 8 Lakh for the basic college fee and about 1. 6 Lakh for mess and Hostel. But the fee structure has changed, one can get the detailed information in the site of BIT Mesra.

Loan- There are a lot of banks like Canara, SBI, Uco, PNB and many more which will students loan very easily in the name of BIT Mesra. Scholarship- If you score more than 8 Cgpa and you have an annual income of less than 2 Lakh then one will be given scholarship of 25%.

There are a lot of Clubs like Music Club, Dance club, Environment Club, Dramatic Society, Photographic Society, Fine and Arts and many more. Talking about gender ratio, Its highly balanced. There is no discrimination in basis of anything.

In the 1st Year, Its compulsory to be in hostel and there will be two people in a single room. Rooms are good enough for two students with Lan wire and Wifi facilities. After the 1st year one can choose to be in hostel or not. Also 2nd year onwards we are given rooms for single people. Hostels are clean as the sweepers come daily.

There is a department named "Students Alumni Relationship", it makes sure that the relationship remains good. They are quite helpful, sometimes they help students in getting internships and even Placement.

BIT Mesra Comes under the list JoSAA, so one have to qualify JEE Mains with a appropriate rank to get admission in B. tech here. Keep in mind there is No other options available to get admission in the B. tech course.

I think this is the most interesting question. Professors, they are highly qualified and have a deep knowledge in their area but most of them don't know how to teach. So in the last you have to teach yourself.
