My college

Jipmer is a wonderful institution. The faculties, staff, seniors and all are very helpful. It is situated in pondicherry and hence we can experience the beauty of pondicherry. It's a safe college for girls too.

It's a good curriculum to learn the subject thoroughly. It is a three year course + 1 year optional internship.First year include anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry. From second year onwards we will have postings on various labs. We have microbiology & heamatology in second year,and histopathology, biochemistry & psm on third year.

As our college is a medical college, there is nothing like campus selection and all. My course is BSC mlt, and it has a great job opportunities. We can work in various labs, hospital's, research centers etc. Our college provide optional internship of 1 year with 10000 RS stipend.

Our college celebrate so many events. Among those, the biggest and most beautiful one is SPANDAN. Spandan is an annual intermedical college meet. It is one of the biggest college event in South India. There will be sports, games, cultural,art and so on. Usually spandan is held during September. For the mallus there is onam celebration. Other events are Holy, JRDA Night, DUENTE, etc

JIPMER is a central government institution. It's an institution of national importance which is run by ministry of health and family welfare. So the fees is very low and almost every one can afford it. The total annual fees will be nearly 16000. This include academic fees,hostel fees. Other than this we need to pay almost 3000 for hostel mess monthly.

As there is not much fees, I don't think there is a need of taking bank loans. There are few scholarships that are offered to students. The details are available in national scholarship portal website. Also some of the religious minority are offered with scholarship from their Particular caste groups.

Jipmer not only focuses on academics. There is a wide facility for extracurricular activities. There is a big stadium suitable for football, cricket, and hockey. Soon they will open the new indoor stadium and swimming pool.

As I am studying BSC course, the main boys hostel for BSC students is LISTER HOUSE. It's one of the best hostel in jipmer. The stadium, open air stage, cafeteria, volleyball court, and so many things are nearby. Also it's the nearest hostel to jipmer main gate. There are double rooms and single rooms. For double room the room rent is 6000 per year and for single room it is 9000 per year.

We BSC mlt students organized our first alumni meet on December 2017. The seniors are so helpful. They gave us valuable suggestions about what we need to do next. Also most of the seniors who have graduated long back are now professors and scientist.

I wrote jipmer allied entrance exam. Then I was shortlisted. I brought all the needed certificate and I came for the counciling and opted for BSC mlt. Then I paid the academic fees and confirmed my set.

The are well educated, qualified faculties. Moreover most of them are really Friendly to the students. Most of them are from different regions of India, but they doesn't show any partiality based on that.
