B.Tech course in NIT Jalandhar - Civil engineering

It was an overall good experience for me to be an Alumni of NIT Jalandhar. The campus is approximately 155 Acres with lots of greenery and facilities. Food, Laboratories are all good. A place suitable for all round development.

The college is equipped with very well Lab facilities. It's a renowned college of national level. The course structure is well designed. You can enjoy a well balanced life here. Technical as well as cultural festivals are also organized by students in each semesters. Provides an scope for all round development.

Almost each student from core branches (eg. - Civil, Electronics, Mechanical, Computer Science) gets on campus placement. In Computer Science they even get two three placement offers also. Even I got placed is a well known company LARSEN & TOUBRO. Currently I am working as a Group-A officer in Indian Railway.

TechNiti is the technical festival organised by students of NIT jalandhar each year which attracts a lots of participants from across the country. RoboWars, Bridge-IT are some of the famous technical events organized in this technical festival. Utkansh is the Cultural festival organized by students of NIT jalandhar each year. Fashion Show and dram are the most popular events during this festival. NO management festivals are organized in this college. The expenditure of these events/festivals are earned through lo al as well as national sponsorships.

It is a government college with feasible fee structure. The current fee structure may be checked through website. The course is divided in total 8 semester. Semester wise fee is to be submitted in form of Demand Draft in beginning of each semester. Fee for ST/SC students are slightly lesser than other category students.

As NIT jalandhar is a renowned National Level College with approximately 100% placement, education loans are easily available through any banks. Government also provides scholarship to students from SC/ ST category and economically backward students in which complete fee including Hostel charges are reimbursed if found eligible. M. Tech admissions through GATE are sponsored by MHRD.

Well equipped laboratories viz. Concrete technology lab, hydraulics lab, computer lab, Manufacturing Shop, Mechanics lab, Thermodynamics lab, Soil lab etc. are available. Sports facilities are also very good. Basket ball court, Gym, Tennis court, Volleyball court, Cricket ground, Badminton ground, and Football ground is available in the campus. We have even coached for some sports. NCC training is also mandatory for students.

Yes. I was an Hostler during my Academics in NIT Jalandhar. The mess of the students are managed by students themselves. A variety of good and hygienic food is served. Cleanliness of Hostel is very good. Wifi facilities is provided through out the hostel. Each hostel has it's own small library, common TV hall and park.

The alumni of the college are all across the country in almost all reputed organizations such as- Google, Amazon, Eriction, Larsen and Toubro, Tata, Infosys, Wipro, ITC and many more. They are also equally distributed alumni in State, Central Government and Public sectors such as- Indian Railways, BPCL, HPCL, IOCL, ONGC. etc. Alumni in private sectors are very helpful in getting companies for campus placement and internships.

NIT's as national level government college for B. tech in almost all streams. An entrance exam named IIT mains is to be given for admission in IIT's as well as NIT's. Earlier admission in NIT's was through AIEEE Exam. No interview is there. Branch and college allocation is made on basis of your rank in entrance examination. However, preference for department is asked before counseling. Interdepartmental sliding is also an option on the basis of better CGPA in 1st year.

The faculties are well qualified with various renowned universities/colleges across country. They are very friendly and helpful in curricularas well as non- curricular activities. They are always there to help you.
