Remarks
Overall I think JGEC campus among the best campus in West Bengal. Faculty of core branch also best among West Bengal. Ground facilities also best. But the real problem is the distance from big city around 30km from Siliguri and 8km from Jalpaiguri main city.
Course Curriculum Overview
Core branch (Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics and communication engineering) are much better than the others college in West Bengal expect Jadavpur University. Professors are also really helpful and great.
Placement Experience
Last year about 80% of non core students are well placed. Number of students from core branch (Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical engineering) are lower from being placed. Still they are well placed after completing graduation.
College Events
Biggest fest of JGEC is called Jaclet, I think this is the best fest of North Bengal. Over a period of 7days during odd semester. Start with inter college competition of different events end with the performance of Well-known star
Fee Structure And Facilities
College fee is not much compare to others college of West Bengal, Just 500rs in a month as tuition fees, hostel fees also around 12 thousands RS for 6month. So total fees around 5 thousands for college and 12k for hostel, so total semester fees 17 thousands.
Fees and Financial Aid
College alumnus gives 5-6 type of scholarship facilities. Also in college campus there have a SBI branch that provides loan who needs. As well as Swami Vivekananda scholarship also there that provides huge amount of scholarship for poor students.
Campus Life
College has two two big ground, one for Cricket called as Oval, other one is for football. View of the campus, I think the best of all college in West Bengal. Cricket,football, volleyball, tennis, as well as Annual sports also best. Lab facilities also good compare to others college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel room are in best quality, they give 2meals in a day. Ceiling fan is not there in hostel, you have to bring table fan. Food quality is also good. Hostel fees around 12 thousands for six months. So total fees 24 thousands for a year in hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumnus of JGEC are really helpful and they also provide good scholarship money for required students. They also arrange lots of inter college Technical thought competition for the running students. They regularly come to college and gives advise to students that is amazing.
Admission
To get admission in JGEC, you have to appeared West Bengal engineering joint entrance examination. This college is 2nd best college (rankwise) in West Bengal, so you have to get a good rank. To get core branch you need around 3k rank to 6k rank. My wbjee rank was 6k.
Faculty
Faculty of core branch like Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics and communication engineering are best compare to others college except Jadavpur University.
