Remarks

I personally like the lifestyle. Obviously there are pros and cons which can be exaggerated. But on a wider view I believe the academic area is very much inclined towards making a student ready for the new world. The independence we get over here is a novice experience and transforms us from kids to adults. I am happy with the change.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum has changed from Bachelor of Engineering to Bachelor of Technology that is the Choice Based Credit Sysytem is implied from the year 2018, my admission one. This curriculum is a much better version of engineering course curriculum. We have options to opt for subjects apart from the ones related to our branch. Also we have a relative marking system in which marking of students are on a scale level of the one who scores the highest in that particular branch. Exams take place in two semester. Each sem comprises of quiz1- midsem- quiz2- endsem. With a total marks of each subject being 100 and the credits may vary according to their importance.

Placement Experience

4.5

Yes, my college provided apt chances for internship from the third year itself. Companies come for each and every from and students have to get themselves register in the training and placement cell of the college. Also more than these, the companies come for placement process when we are in 4th year of college.

College Events

5

The annual technical fest of our collge is 'Pantheon'. The sports one is ' Vajta And largest east India fest is also organized by BIT Mesra. It is Bitotsav. Besides. There are 25+ clubs in college. And they also organize there fest which are related to a particular genre.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is nearly ?1,25,000 per semester of 6 months. It includes mess fee, tution fee. And many other miscellaneous services as well. In a glance it might seem to be an expensive deal, but the college is not a government one but a deemed university so for obvious reasons the fee is a bit high. Also there is not much difference in fees when compared to an IIT. The infrastructure is Splendacious and hence fees is managed accordingly.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. There is GP Birla scholarship for the economically backwards students and also a scholarship for the ones who score the most in their respective branches. Several competition are held periodically which provide apt opportunity to the students to get a financial aid.

Campus Life

4.5

We have 2 or more labs each semester. Proper and modern equipments are present. Apart from this. We have NSS, PT games, NCC, and creative arts as the extracurricular subject. This is totally different from the monotonous schedule and increasesbour creativity even more.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel alloted to me is quite descent. Friendlt staffs and daily cleaning is done. Mess food has lways been a complaint but making food for 600+ students is not a child's play. Hygiene is never forgotten.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes. There is a huge alumini network. The renowned 'BITOSA' is one such network. They are always attached to the college. They are very much ready to help and we as their juniors really feel connected to them.

Admission

I got my admission in BIT Mesra via Jee Mains Ranking. It is an exam that all the engineering aspirants re required to appear for to get a government engineering college. And to the ones who get qualified further appear for JEE advance. But seats in IITs are much more limited than the Government funded Institutions and thr NITs. Hence I was in the merit list for jee mains and got the branch chemical engineering (plastics and polymer)

Faculty

4

The faculty is quite varied. Few a much learned proffesors and few are amateurs. They have quite descriptive methods of educating students. Few are more friendly than others. The proffesors are quite motivating and even they give the students opportunity to work under them.

From 7th sem onwards students are able to face placements. Comapnies such as ZS, Deloite AB in bev microsoft visa comes here and normally takes 1-3 students. The highest package may vary from 40-50 lakhs and average is 4-5 lakhs. Internships opportunities are quite low here. In chemical enginnering only till now out of 120 students 20-30 got placed including out of campus palcements. I am hoping to do mba after pursuing the degree as there is less comapny visit for core branches.
