Remarks
As a joluian my remarks for my college is always positive. We have best quality of teachers, labs, centalize library, excellent placement records and wide numbers of alumnus makes me always positive for JGEC.
Course Curriculum Overview
First of all this is an autonomous college. So every things are controlled by the management and the professors. This follow the syllabus of WBUT but rearrange by own. Exam questions are made by own teachers and also results are published by the college only.
Placement Experience
This is one of the oldest engineering institutions in West Bengal. The placement records are excellents. More than 80% students get their placements form here every year. TCS, COGNIZANT, WIPRO, CAPGEMANI, ADOBE, L&T, S&P are the major companies.
College Events
JGEC have 2major events and many more events. JECLET and SHIRSTI are the major events. Teacher's Day, Biswakarma Puja, Freshers day, Annual sports week, hostel sports, alumni celebration and convocation.
Fee Structure And Facilities
This is a government college so fees are very reliable. Hostel fees are not more than 15k for a semester and 3k to 13k are the semester fees depands on the the trade or stream. ie if you are looking for COMPUTER SCIENCE then just have to 7k.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are very reliable. But if some one needs bank loan or scholarship, this facilities are prest there. There are half fees and full fees relaxations for internal scholarship and also mainorty scholarships are available here.
Campus Life
Labs are well defined and decorated. All equipments are modern and upto date. JGEC have centralise server system and computer labs. Also have language lab and centralised library systems. Sports are very wide here. Cricket tournament, football tournament, basketball, annual sports.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network are very wide and they are very helpful to others. They are presents in every part of this world in various fields. They are always trying to help to their juniors also guide them very well.
Admission
After completing my diploma engineering, attended the JELET exam after that exam, results were published by WBJEE board, then I also attended the counciling process and then I selected Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College.
Faculty
There are five trades present in JGEC. Each and every stream or trade have more than 10 numbers of quality teachers or professors. They are well educated and experienced in their rest of the fields. They are very helpful.
