Remarks

The overall experience from SARDAR PATEL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is better than most colleges in Mumbai. It is one of the better colleges one can hope to do their engineering from. With the autonomy coming in, the college staff are continuously trying to make changes that will help their students even after they graduate from the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college has an autonomous curriculum which enables it to include some interesting subjects that MU doesn't offer. The exam is a credit based exam and is divided into 3 components - internals, mid sems and end sems.

Placement Experience

5

The placements have been continuously increasing year by year. The past year, the computer branch and the college had a 100% placement record with the AVG package for computer branch being Rs 10 lakhs.

College Events

4

The college previously has two fest- cultural and technical but it has now being merged into 1 annual techno cultural fest Oculus. It lasts for about 4 days. The college also had its annual sports fest called Spoorthi including games like cricket ,football, throwball and chess.

Fees and Financial Aid

Multiple scholarship are provides by the college. However most of the scholarhsips ar wonky available to students of categories like SC /st/ OBC. General category students have a hard time finding scholarhsips.

Campus Life

4

The labs are well equipped with all the necessary instruments and ACs and fans. The boy to girl ratio is approximately 3:1. There are numerous cultural and technical committee that the students can be a part of. The college has students from all over India and not just Mumbai.

Alumni/Alumna

The students get the opportunity to communicate to the alunlmi. They are lectures that are arranged periodically where alumni students come in and talk about the experience. They also talk about the choices of job or further studies and which one can be more beneficial.

Admission

I had to give an exam called Mhcet which is out of 200. I had 4 options to choose from - Computer, IT, Electronics, Electronic and Telecommunications. I chose Computer because it had the maximum scope in the future and placements for Computer Engineering from this college were very good.

Faculty

4

All facilities are top notch with a number of them having doctoral degrees and numerous research papers to their name. Their enthusiasm to teach encourages students to engage and learn the subjects. They are always available if any query arises.

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT.
