Remarks

Kalyani government engineering college is the well-known college in West Bengal. The alumni facility, placement opportunity, extra curricular activity is very good in this college. Approximately 70 to 75% students placed in the recent year. So it is a very good college for the BTech. Those students who want to learn create some new ideas in innovate their ideas this is the perfect college for them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Exam structure is as per the University. But internal exams are tough. And it is mandatory for students to keep 70% attendance to sit in the exam. The internal exams serve as a practice sets for the final. The lab exams are also tough. As students need to keep their lab notebook up to dated with the concerned topics and if any student fails to do so, marks will be deducted in the final exams.

Placement Experience

3.5

The top recruiter is TCS, which intakes most of the student. Apart from TCS there are wipro, accenture, atos, ITC infotech, capgemini etc which visits the college but their intake is not that bulk. The placement cell is average say 7/10. But it will provide information regarding pool-campus recruitment. Apart from these students can always appear off-camp using.

College Events

4

In the college there is a cultural and tech fest of KGEC ESPEKTRO. Students gather the donations and there are other sponsors who support the fest. In the fest there are competitions like : * Short film festivals. * Robo Wars. * Drone Flying competitions. * Rocket flying and others. * Singing * Dancing * Quiz * Coding Competitions * Treasure Hunt * Rubic's Cube solving Apart from these there are also other bands which perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a government college the fees are feasible. You will get almost every facilities in cheap price. However if you want to know the fees structure of various departments, visit the official website kgec. edu. in

Fees and Financial Aid

there are provisions for half or full free (of fees) for a semester (the student can further apply for the next semester too). Ther is a good scholar ship for running student is Swami Vivekananda merit cume mins Anoortal And OBC scholarship In college

Campus Life

3.5

As I mentioned in previous section, we organise many events like blood donation camp, clothes distribution etc. And in case of lab facilities, the lab is obviously good with full AC. The computers are also good for work but they are very old in age. And in case of sports, in the fest we organise many games like "marathon", "mathematicos" etc.

Alumni/Alumna

No comments for our senior they are good they help us in our education. They help us as a brother. They tech us the good manner. they prepare us how to represent your self in different places if there problem they over come this problem.

Admission

To get admission in KGEC I took WBJEE exam which is the West Bengal entrance for B. Tech. I opted KGEC because: 1. It is fully govt. sponsored. As such there are several schemes for deduction of fees 2. Several govt. scholarships. 3. Great faculty. 4. Great labs. 5. Several exposure to great institutes for further studies like PHD.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties are well qualified. Most of them are either PHDs or pursuing one. Some of the faculties of other dept. s are having M. Phils In fact I know few who have multiple PHDs ( from other dept). Most of the faculties(of MCA) try to teach in a simple non-bookish manner.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
