Course Curriculum Overview
Our course curriculum and exam structures are as per VTU syllabus. The curriculum is not entirely about the industry knowledge but provides some basic knowledge related to the industry. Yes, the industrial visit was organized for the students to know about the IT industry and how it basically works.
Placement Experience
The placement in our college is quite good. Many reputed companies have visited our college for recruiting. Some of the companies that visited our EY, Thought works, Thought focus, One trust, Epsilon, ITC infotech, and so on. The general process of recruitment is an aptitude test, technical test, group discussion, face to face technical interview and then HR interview. Our college has helped us in these placement activities by providing us with placement training from previous years.
College Events
We have technical seminars from resource person. We have branch fest conducted by each department every year which is restricted to only that branch. It has some technical events and some fun games as well. And a cultural fest called ignieit is celebrated by the whole college together every year. It lasts for a week and we have some games, competitions, ethnic day, funky day, programs and so on.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Our college fee structure is feasible. SNQ quota students pay 18k rupees annually and the rest of them have to pay the entire fees annually. And as usual, there are concessions in fees for some students based on their caste as per some program. There are no additional charges that should be paid. And if we want to avail for transport facility, separate fees have to be paid.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed any scholarships or education loan but yes, our college does provide scholarship opportunities.
Campus Life
Our college has a good campus. We have a separate building for classes and a separate building for labs. We also have a big playground. Our college allows students to participate in various sports activities and some have reached the national level also. Our college also conducts some technical talks and workshops for students in order to enhance their knowledge. The gender ratio in our college is almost the same and we all have equal opportunities in everything irrespective of gender.
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors are very friendly and cooperative. They help us by guiding us in our projects and activities.
Admission
I got the admission in this college based on my KCET ranking. I always wanted to get into software field. Since Information Science and Engineering is related to this, I opted for this course. The reason I chose this college is that it is one of the good colleges in Mysore.
Faculty
On average there are 12 lecturers in our branch with an average age of around 35 years. All the lecturers have completed their master's degree. Some lecturers are even PhD holders and some are on the way of pursuing a PhD. Since all lecturers have good experience in their field, they teach us very well. They help us to understand the subject better by clarifying all our doubts.
