- There are only few fest and events in north campus.
- The people in south campus hostel of north campus have to travel 14 km to go to college and it take more than 30-45 min to go.
- The main club events are done in south campus and students of north campus usually can not attend those, cause they 14km apart
Course Curriculum Overview
The college curriculum is good. Every week we will have labs on particular sub for which needed like chem, python and CAED. In every sem we will have 2 test each of 25 marks and 2 quiz of 10 marks each and other 30 marks is for our experiencial learning. At end of sem we will have a SEE i.e sem end exams for 100 marks.
Internships Opportunities
There are lot of internship opportunities available here. Many companies offer interships and those companies give placements once after your internship period is completed. Companies like JP Morgan, Infosys, L and T etc.. come to our college with placement offers.
Placement Experience
Placements here are good. The highest package I heard of was around 43 lpa. The average is almost 10 lpa.As of what I heard was that this year, out 125 students in ISE almost 110 students got placed. So, I feel the placement ratio is quite good.
Fees and Financial Aid
I joined this college via KCET and there other 2 ways to get seat in this college. There are totally 3 ways to enter this college. 1st by KCET in which the fee is 107000 per year, 2nd by COMEDK in which the fee is 2.88 lakhs per year and 3rd by management in which fees is 17lakhs. If you join via SNQ quota in KCET then the fees is almost 30k per year.
Campus Life
I would say the campus life is average here. This is because the North campus is almost outside the city and almost all fests, event and club meeting are conducted in south campus(14 km apart) as it is the older one. The IT students in north campus will miss out all of those. But not too bad, some of the events are done even in north campus. Also many clubs are available even in north campus.
Hostel Facilities
I personally liked my hostel. We have gym over here. The hostel is well maintained. It is always kept clean. 3 members for an room and we are provided with a bed, shelf and a study table. Hygiene mess and food service is provided and they are actually good.
Admission
I got a rank of 14k in KCET. I got seat in this college via KCET in obc category. This college was the best college in college I would get seat. This college is in top 10 college of karnataka. More over the co-founder and CEO of infosys i.e Narayan Murthy was an allumini of this college, this facinated me more to join this college.
Faculty
The college curriculum is good. Coming to faculty, college has very experienced faculty and they are very interactive with students. I personally liked the faculty of maths. As of now now I am not facing such difficulties in any subject. But comparitively I feed CAED sub is a bit difficult for me as of now. We have 2 internal tests and one sem end exam in every semister.
Interview Experience
For admission into this college I have written KCET i.e Karnataka Common Entrance Test. As I am from Karnataka I had option to write KCET. But for those who are not from Karnataka can take admission via COMEDK.
Night Life
I live in south campus hostel. south campus is in centre of city so, the night life is good and you will get many things around my hostel. But for those who live in norh campus hostel, it is not so good around it as it is completely in outskirts of mysore and it is a industrial area.
