The people are mostly open minded and one has the freedom to express oneself in whatever way they want to compared to other colleges. The freedom of expression and the acceptance of coming out of the closest is much more. Although there's still room for improvement and unlearning.

The course structure is well designed to cover all the important eras of literature, along with different forms of arts like music, movies, comics, etc. We are taught to inculcate different theories like Marxists theories, Freudian theories and feminist theories.

The placement cell is active. However, there needs to be a lot more opportunities for every student to feel comfortable and for students to have more than one option in their hands. However, offers for internships are rarely provided. Internships are needed for students before they can acquire a degree, and the placement cell needs to take note to provide internships. A major problem, I feel, is making the opportunity easier for students to access. Often, we aren't aware of the opportunity that come and are left out.

We witness several events throught the year, including Sanskriti, Ibtida, fests, etc. Students get to display their talents in several categories of performative art. Famous bands are often invited to the fests.

The fee structure is feasible. Average semester fees ranges from 1200 - 2500. Exams fees are within 500. The semester fees include all the charges(like library and lab). Exam fees are to be submitted via the college website before the semester exams.

I am unaware of any scholarships or loans provided. I do not think there is one. I do feel that scholarships are a necessity for students with brilliant minds and financial difficulties. Although the college fee structure is feasible, living cost and pg charges often lead upto a large sum, which can be aides via scholarships.

The lab that existed in our department has been closed and no longer is functioning. Library facilities are good. People who are interested in sports get there opportunity through the sports club of the university, along with inter departmental events.

Yes, seniors are helpful. Although it depends on the person's level of interaction. Outgoing people often have a good connection with seniors and even alumni, who are helpful in every way they can be.

The department of English conducts an admission test. I had to crack the test in order to get admission. The department of English at Jadavpur University in one of the top departments of English in the country, which was a reason for my aspirations to get in here.

The faculty is well qualified to take classes, with a very few exceptions. They make sure to appoint different professors according to their area of speciality for the respective classes. Alongside the course coordinator, other professors take particular topics according to their specialities. This aids the structure of knowledge distribution. Moreover, the processors are approachable and provide help whenever asked.
