Jadavpur university: From a fresher.

Fees and Financial Aid:

During admission the total fee taken was merely ?1235, including tuition fee, library deposit, admission fee etc. The yearly cost which is the session charge (?50) and the tuition fee (?900) comes to a total of only ?950.

JU in a nutshell

Last year I had paid 950/- which includes all kinds of fees. I do not know that of reservations'. Scholarship opportunities are rare, only the ones offered by the state govt and some other foreign universities like Rhodes scholarship (which is the only one I've heard so far) are announced for application

Jadavpur University: A Kaleidoscope of Reality

The year wise fees was taken during the admission, an amount of Rs 1235/-. There was a number of sub categories, such as, tution fees of R 900/-, admission fees of Rs 100/-, Registration fees Rs 25/-, library deposit Rs 50/-, sports fees of Rs 100/-, session charges Rs 50/-, health card of Rs 10/-. There was no charge taken for lab session and for caution deposit. There were no other hidden charges either. The fees remains the same for other categories. There are some scholarships available like the Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship, it goes upto Rs 60,000/- per year deoending on the financial conditions of the recipient. The scholarships and reduced fees for certain categories help the students a lot in pursuing their studies.

What its like in Jadavpur university

You can apply for scholarship if you have an economically weak background. The course fee is 1250 for 1 year, given the facilities this is a cheap compared to other colleges. The placement is a bit tricky in Arts as people are here aiming for higher education and getting into academia.

The Dream of JU

The fees are very less and around 2000/year. Full and half free scholarships are available for the people who need them. Apart from that scholarships like JU SLYFF etc are available which can help with other costs.

Life In Jadavpur University

The students get financial assistance through scholarships some of them being Kanyashree, Aikyashree, Free ship and a lot more. The fees of the college is pretty cheap which serves as an important aspect. The fees per year for my course is 950/- and the hostel fees is decent as well which makes finance a little less of a burden.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is updated based on the updation of the syllabus and also the faculty members provide the students with the required subject notes and materials so that the whole topic regarding the subject becomes clear to them. Secondly, I got enough industrial exposure which was quite regarded for the subject I was studying.

The course is v poorly structured. It's v outdated. We're just studying what others have been for years now. The course needs to be updated, or else the university will loose it's rank. Other universities study dope topics like the different waves of feminism and we are still stuck with Renaissance. Italian one and Spanish one and English one. I feel we often miss out the socio political environment part of the text which basically inspired the whole text. This makes the course drab and boring and you end up learning stuff just to pass.
